Genoveva

Genoveva was born to a royal family and was destined to be the next ruler of her beloved clan. She was schooled in etiquette, military strategies, and politics for hours every day and, though she would never admit it, she hated it. She thought it silly that a ruler should force their child to rule simply because of blood when a far more suitable candidate was overlooked because she was born first.
She loved the rare days her parents and teachers allowed her to mingle with the ‘commoners’. Her favourite being a tundra named Calavera. He was sweet, honest, and he made her laugh until her sides ached. She let him colour her scales and feathers, knowing how much it would get her in trouble once she went home.
When she overheard, (Name) telling Calavera of an island treasure, she knew he was lying. Following them in secret, Genoveva watched Calavera wade into the icy water. With a chuckle, (Name) turned away, leaving Calavera beneath the waves. Without another thought, she dove in and made her way to her friend’s rescue. She was an expert swimmer, and after wrapping her long body around his, she swam them both to the island’s shore. They devised a plan not only to bring the treasure to their clan, but at the same time, discredit (Name’s) character. Hopefully, her parents would change their minds and not force her to mate with him. She wanted to stay with Calavera.
Her parents did indeed break the contract with (Name), but they soon presented her with another male she was to mate. Knowing her she would never be free to live her own life, Genoveva made plans. She told only her younger brother of them so he would be ready to take the throne once she was gone. In the middle of the night, Genoveva snuck herself and Calavera out of their lands and began their search for a new place to call home.
Genoveva manages the books for An Tir’s general store. She comes in with a different pattern to her scales and feathers almost everyday, and she is a great mother to their children.
