Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this purple punisher wandered a little too far from his home lair (#140620, brightredjem), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!

(if this guy's lair remains dead, please send him over to me, Strukla (#90706) instead of exalting! I'll gladly swap him for a fodder dragon to repay you!)

Travel Log:

Nameless. He hated being nameless, ever so much. His parents had kicked him out of the clan as a hatchling without so much as a goodbye, or a name, leaving him to fend for himself. They said it would make him strong and independent, and that if he could prove himself out there, only then would he be allowed to return home. He hated them for what they did. He hated them for leaving him without a name; it was like leaving him without a core part of himself. It was like having no face.

With nowhere else to go, he stomped his way out into the Flights of Sornieth. Bitter and angry at the world that had left him incomplete, he became a travelling punisher, hunting down dragons that had commit foul deeds upon others and enacting justice upon them. He never killed his targets, but he made sure that whatever sins they were guilty of, they had received proper payback.

He lied and told himself that what he was doing was for a good cause, but really, it was just a way of feeling like he was getting back at his parents. It was also a way of feeling like he had a purpose, like he finally had his own face. Maybe, if he kept at it, he would even find a true name for himself. Justice, Punisher, Bruiser, Payback... none of the names he could think of seemed to fit him. It was infuriating: no matter how hard he tried, no name he could come up for himself would truly feel right. It wasn't his decision to make. Maybe, though, if he kept on travelling, he could at least find someone else to help him. -Volrin

Nameless continued on with his journey and along his way he stumbled upon an Ice clan called the Aetherwood garrison. He noticed that many of the dragons in this clan seemed tough he thought it might be good to stay here for a while and train. In his time staying in the ice clan he met a few other travelers who were there training.

In his time there Nameless thought of more names for himself. Battlewing, Bravery, Vigilante, Hokage... But he still couldn't think of a name for himself. He asked members of the ice clan if they could help him figure out a name for himself, but none of them could help.

Nameless found another Guardian named Sunshine, she had a desire to become stronger and he had a desire to prove himself. Nameless and Sunshine decided they'd accompany one another on their journeys.

Still without a name, Nameless, accompanied by Sunshine, left to keep up traveling. Maybe in the next clan he'd find someone who could help him. -ApostasiaAin

Surprisingly, they didn't travel too far before stopping at their next destination; another Ice clan by the name of the Sunflakes Alliance. Nameless, though always ready to sharpen his skills, was glad for the change of setting and decided they'd stay here for a little while. He realized Sunshine didn't like the place very much but he couldn't do much to change her mind about it so he left her to her own devices.

Nameless caught wind of an open library and was quick to find it despite the fact that he couldn't read too well. A library had books and books had names from which he could draw inspiration for his very own name.

When he got there, he was greeted by a loud Spiral and noticed a Fae who seemed to have been helping him out before she quickly left at his appearance. He wondered what that was about before he was distracted by the Spiral whom he found out was the librarian called Marshall who was also once a traveller. He asked what he needed and he told him about his problem. He seemed a bit shocked but suggested a few books he could check out and told him that he'd help him with any he needed help with.

So Nameless spent most of his time reading and took note of a few names: Alistair, Tobias, Xavier; but none really captured who he was as a dragon and as such Nameless soon bid his farewells to the clan with his partner at his side as they ventured to a new place. -IceOtter

Nameless reluctantly returned to his home layer for a brief visit and to confront his parents about why they gave him away without a name. It was the confrontation he had been waiting for ever since they made him leave, but he could not bring himself to talk to them. They were right over there.

"What are you waiting for?" He asked himself because for some reason he could not breach the last few feet of distance between himself and his parents.

He finally worked up the nerve to approach them. "Hey, why did you guys kick me out when I was barley old enough to fend for myself? Why didn't you give me a name?", he told them.

They responded that there was a massive lair cleanout and they had lost track of him before it started. They explained that after it was over, they couldn't find him and that they were heartbroken. They missed him every day that he had been gone and would give him the name Warrior to commemorate all that he had gone through. Then they waited with baited breath to hear his response.

"I don't know if I can ever forget what happened, but I am willing to start to forgive you. You had a decent reason." He told them and the smile that lit up their faces was a thing to behold. He knew then that he had done the right thing. He could leave and adventure some more with a lighter heart. -brightredjem

Something unexpected happened, Warrior lost Sunshine during a snowstorm when they were leaving his home lair. It came from nowhere and it was almost as if she disappeared into thin air. He tried returning to the last place they had visited, only to find out that she had already passed through injured and was also looking for him. They said they didn't know where she was headed nor were they able to treat her wounds and Warrior wasn't too happy about that. Now his journey had more of a meaning; he wanted to find Sunshine and make sure she was safe and sound.

He didn't stay too long before he was on the move to find the missing Guardian. -IceOtter

Traveling northwards, he soon entered the domain of a familiar dragon. Maia, the ice-princess turned fire, offered her Night Warriors and Iron Claw to search the Ashfall Wastes. Through blistering heat and scorching flows they journeyed, but to no avail. After exhausting the steaming coastline, they moved upwards into bordering lands. Charon and Pyroxene followed familiar hunting trails while Kiriath and Chatoyant rumbled through the Fire Guardian communities. After a few unsuccessful nights, Morgana and Ursula lent their magic to the cause.

It proved for naught. Sunshine was nowhere in the Ashfall Wastes, or anywhere near their borders. If Warrior was to find his lost Sunshine, he would have to continue his journey northwards. -pyrotech2

While travelling northwards, Warrior eventually entered the Tangled Wood. He stayed with a clan that called themselves the Shadowborns', as most of them were born in the Tangled Wood. He enjoyed his stay there, but he also found it slightly boring.

What made his stay better was a Ridgeback called Shara. She was young and charming, and despite being born in water, just like him, she enjoyed the dark woods more than anyone in the clan. The last thing Warrior did before leaving the clan was to fulfill Shara's greatest wish - a nest. He was told that having nests and providing the clan with hatchlings was possibly the most honourable thing for these dragons, and he felt happy he could at least give them something for letting him stay with them.
However, he had grown tired of the Tangled Wood and it was time for him to continue his search for his beloved Sunshine. This time, he was not alone - another traveler, CinnamonBun, had promised to follow him to their next clan and look for Sunshine. He got a feeling that she was keeping something from him, but he could not tell what it was. Nonetheless, he still enjoyed her company. -Cvhruig

After spending their time in a clan deep in the Starwood Strand, Warrior separated from his latest travelling companion in favor of reaching the Windswept Plateau. Word of Sunshine's home clan reached him and Cinnamon Bun gladly let him be on his way. If he hurries up, he may even reach the Guardian he was looking for.

Unfortunately, the Plateau was high above the Scarred Wasteland he had to trot across first. It being his first time in the unforgiving, plagued lands, he had a hard time traversing it. The ground itself looked sickly, with boil-like bubbles popping on their own here and there, and spreading oozing bloodred liquid upon doing so that burned dragon skin, as Warrior unfortunately found out. The skin covering his back and head was thick, but the soles of his feet and wings were more affected and soon started burning from the treatment. It was already too late to fly up in the air, so he had no other option but to persevere.

By the time he reached the bottom of the Plateau, the canyons below the Reedcleft Ascent, his own feet were bleeding from the open wounds he suffered. Still, not called Warrior for naught, he gathered all of his strength and took to climbing the narrow paths between the cliffs, slowly making his way to the top. His efforts were somewhat rewarded when he, indeed, reached the clan of his long gone travelling companion, Sunshine. Unfortunately, she was not there anymore.

When he heard someone inquired about their own warrior lady, a lot smaller but fancily dressed and imposing Guardian approached him with a grin.
"Y' lookin' for Sunshine, eh? Too bad the girl left alr-" Noticing the blood trail Warrior left and the limping way he moved, the grin disappeared, replaced by a frown. "Come. Let's heal you up." Warrior grunted as he wanted to hear about her whereabouts, the wounds can wait a bit longer. But even he had to step down when the one called Lazar glared at him. "If your wounds get infected, you'll be seeing her only when she reaches the deities after you. And that girl's a tough one, so you might wait for quite a while." Warrior's conciliatory grunt about preferring to see her in this life got a chuckle out of the other one. "Thought so. Y' youngsters always rush; rush to have a nest, rush into battle, rush to leave home. She's like that too, y'know." A glance over his shoulder and a wink directed at Warrior. "Come."

Their healer was... Peculiar, to say the least. Talked very little, and when he did, every other word came out as a snake's hiss. Warrior eyed him constantly, for never before has he seen a dragon so obsessed with bird skulls he even put one on his head. Still, the medicine worked like a charm, and in a matter of weeks he was up and about, gathering food and trying to prepare for another, possibly long, journey.

Before leaving, he took something. He was handed an unfinished set of armor; Lazar didn't pass up the opportunity to comment that Sunshine needs a fitting warrior by her side, and every warrior needs an armor. Warrior could just roll his eyes at one of his many comments that always had a slight provoking tone; probably inferiority complex as Lazar was older but smaller than most. Still, the two made a, based-on-slight-word-prodding, friendship. Despite coming off as high-and-mighty, Lazar did actually care about Warrior's well-being and Warrior came to appreciate his advice, no matter the way it was delivered.
Pairing up with a young Mirror that didn't want to travel alone, the two left the Reedcleft Ascent and headed to the neighboring lands.

One thing kept ringing in his head as they walked away. For all he knew from the time they were together, fighting was her Charge, her meaning of life. And what about his? He got the name he deserved, so why was he still travelling around, looking for her? Could it be she became his new Charge?

They didn't travel far. They did not even leave the Reedcleft Ascent, as they expected. Instead, they stayed the night at a bed and breakfast. The next morning, Warrior's companion was gone, leaving only a note to say he was going home.

Warrior stayed at the bed and breakfast many more days before finally traveling on.

"Bet you think you are tough with a name like that" The clan leader slowly circled him as she spoke. Karma was much smaller than he by a good ten meters easily but, she was anything but intimidated by the larger guardian. What she lacked in size was made up for in skill far beyond his reach at this point. "Well come on then" She smiled, it wasn't the warmest of smiles. It held arrogance and a twisted delight in the pain of others just under the surface of that smile. "You can come with us on our next hunting trip Warrior, and you can show us what you've got, and we can teach you with what you need to further excel in". The beasts in the Mire and the Kelp beds made the hunting trip well worth it but now he could use a little bit of rest before heading out again

After a short travel alone, Warrior found himself stumbling upon a garden. At first he thought it was void of life all accept the foliage that grew, he soon found out that he was not alone, a small pink fae made herself known. Belladandi, that was this adorable creatures name and Warrior had managed to find his way into her home. The fae offered him sanctuary within her grove for as long as he needed. During his stay, a fae named Winya had became fast friends with him, Warrior teaching him how to fight and protect the lovely garden. In return upon his departure Winya had given a gift, a spirit hound who instantly clung to the giant Guardian ready to fight along side his new master.
