Blackbird loves nothing more than to feel the exhilaration of adventure. He is by no means loosely tied to the clan; after happening across it during his wanderings as a young dragon, he decided to stick by the small clan. It was just mustering itself again in a third iteration of leadership after the second leader, Rachana, managed to guide her young clan away from the Scarred Wasteland and into the Viridian Labyrinth. However, the only dragons who both made it through the trip and decided to stay after the blow the desperately-needed move had inflicted upon their clan were Korp and Furste. Korp was the sister of Commander Agnar, and warriors Ivor and Hera live on as her grandchildren.

However, this was all before he stumbled across them, and he has only heard it through stories. Blackbird has plenty stories of his own to tell from his travels, which he continues to pursue, using the clan as his home base. His favorite places to visit are the Fishspine Reef in the Sea of A Thousand Currents, the Cloudsong in the Windswept Plateau, and anywhere in the Viridian Labyrinth. He loves vibrant color and speaking to new dragons.

Blackbird often comes home with illustrious tales and even more knick-knacks to clutter he and Pariah's space in the lair. She'll trill in frustration, but can't keep herself from inspecting everything. She's especially pleased when he brings back anything metal, knowing that he's trying to show affection like another Coatl would. Their relationship is quite sound considering the language barrier that usually exists between Coatls and other dragons. Blackbird's mother was a Coatl, and so he's not half bad at interpreting the grating trills.

When they met, her clan was on the verge of collapse. He stayed, courting her, but also supporting her through the descent of her home. When it was nearly over, she agreed to accompany him back to his clan, which adopted her as swiftly as it did him.
