Memoirs of Verdant and his Brilliant Love Conquests:
Sana
After the story with Sana, Ember was watching me and made sure I couldn't make an acquaintance with any beautiful lady recruits. So I decided I should disappear until it blows over. So I decided to volunteer to take a message to a neigbouring clan, relieving Driftice of his duties for a bit. The way I saw it, it was win-win. Driftice got some time off to train his dancing, and I got to check out all the beautiful dragons living as our neighbours.
When I arrived it wasn't what I expected. There were plenty of interesting dragons, but somehow, I failed to make as big impression as I expected. Everybody were nice, but not interested in making close friends. Except for Opal. She took me under her wing, showed me around and made sure I'm comfortable. She's a very talented Mirror lady, a jeweller to be exact. She crafts her pieces out of her own gembond crystals and the jewellery she creates is as beautiful as she is herself. Her body is a kaleidoscope of blue hues and she carries herself proudly, but warmly. I knew instantly that she would be interested in something more than friendship, and who am I to refuse a lady? I had the most wonderful time with Opal. I spend many hours watching her work, observing a piece of crystal becoming a jewel under her talons. The evenings we spend in each others arms, enjoying ourselves very much. Everything that is good has to come to an end. The day our eggs hatched, I knew I need to go back home. Opal seemed to be quite disappointed. I knew that she would rather keep me, but the truth is that there are many dragons in this world that would appreciate my company. I went home accompanied by Diver, the first-hatched son of the nest I laid with beautiful Opal.
After I got back home I realized that the situation hasn't changed much. The female recruits were still guarded closely and Ember made sure I couldn't befriend any of them. Male recruits on the other hand...
There was one that grabbed my attention immediately. He was not one of young and fresh-scaled dragons that usually come to our clan to train. He was much older Guardian, strong and rugged. His scales bore the signs of many fights already. Were he of our clan, he would be an instructor himself. But he was perfectly content to train with the novices, helping them with useful advice and as a challenging sparring partner. I took to watching him while he trained and one of those occasions I came up to him to talk. He had noticed me also and was glad that we could finally talk. His name was Maroonfive-an unusual name to be sure. When I asked, he told me the story of how he became named thus.: When he was but a hatchling, he was apprenticed to a combat master who took one hit to the head too many. The master could never remember the names of his apprentices, since he had five of them and Maroonfive was double-coloured, the name stuck to him. We became friends rather quickly and later on, Maroonfive had proven himself to be an experienced and patient lover. Even that combat is the great love of his life, it is a great comfort to me that I can seek the warmth of his arms whenever the loneliness becomes too much to bear.
It's been some time since I've checked how's the beautiful Opal is doing. Seems that she's still a bit sore at me after our last encounter. Ah well, at least I have a neat picture now, since one of the more talented dragons had sketched our meeting.

Not much happened recently. Between Maroonfive finally leaving to serve Flamecaller and Opal still being mad at me for leaving her, my love life was non-existent. Such a waste- all my skill going unused. I'm sure there should be a dragon or dragoness that could appreciate my superior company. Out of sheer boredom, I took to wandering the land around our lair, hoping that I might meet someone interesting along the way. And behold, Mather sent her my way. Her body was spotted and orange, a pattern almost perfectly imitating a hot pool of lava, her wings- the most delicate butterfly. She lived in a cave in the side of a rocky hill. I had no idea where she came from and why was she alone. She spoke no words, wearing her silence like a precious jewel. Because she couldn't tell me her name, I gave her one- Incognita. the Unknown One. She made me welcome in her simple home and as the days passed, I grew to admire her very much. She had boundless endurance, often spending long days hunting for insects. Her survival skills were flawless, as one would expect from someone who could survive on their own in Ashland Wastes. Despite her silence, she was a great company. When it became obvious she is with eggs, I was finally able to convince her to come back with me to the clan's lair. Ember might be stern, but she would never let any child to be born in wilderness. But as soon as the eggs were safely deposited into a nest, Incognita disappeared. I thought she returned to her cave, but there was no trace of her there. I never learned who she were, where she came from or or where she had gone to.
Silky
Envy
Ah, Hina- a true soldier to Mather and a daughter to one. Who could stand in her way? She speaks her mind, acts at her will and takes what she desires. And it was my great honour to be desired by her and so I was taken. Such passion burns in her uncommon eyes, why would I ever resist?
I think I'm starting to wear Ember thin. I haven't heard anything from her recently. Usually I get a reminder from her to 'keep it under my sash'. But no lecture came in quite some time now. Well, 'a moment not spent in a company of a beautiful dragon is a moment wasted'- that's what I say. Lanthorn came to us as a part of one of those long and convoluted breeding programmes. Frankly, I couldn't tell anything more than that nor I cared. Who would if they were presented with somebody like that? That dark body filled with most delightful spots and criss-crossed with ribbons of flaming colour! Even the most ascetic m monk would be tempted! And he had the sweetest temperament to go with it. Oblivious to his own beauty, Lanthorn was the most modest and sweet dragons I have ever met. I took great pleasure in teaching him about the secrets of love. And my superior talents were not wasted on him at all.
What a treat it is to have a circus to come by our lands! Not only the show was excellent, but I knew that circus folk have open natures and even more open hearts. And I was not wrong. Three brothers caught my eye- their specialty was stunt flying and aerial dance. What a sight to behold those three making the skies their playground! But how one chooses between one lovely fae and another? The answer is: one doesn't. There is enough Verdant to share and enjoy for everybody.
Rise was the most experienced of the three brothers. He immediately recognized the quality before him. We wasted no time in knowing each other better. His skill managed to impress me, a feat in itself- to be able to impress a master lover as myself.
Shine, a natural joker that he is, made me pursue him. He is such a tease at heart, testing my patience and stamina. But when the chase was over, I was handsomely rewarded.
Spell was the shy one, reluctant to accept my advances. Having never tasted love of a drake, he was slow to trust me. But gaining his trust made the time we finally spent together even sweeter.
The circus is gone, but I will be looking forward to its arrival next year.
I only just recently started to notice how graceful and simply stunning Imperial ladies can be. Most recently I had the honour of entertaining such a lady. Big is beautiful, ask any dragon that can boast any common sense at all. But Niruin was not only big, beautiful and good-natured. She was also a daughter of a prominent Clan that was our close neighbour. She was sent here to train in basic combat, finishing her education as a future leader of the clan. Well, her family was not happy with the uh, unfortunate delay in her education that ensued. There were stern words exchanged between Ember and their clan leader. And some of that stern words spilled over from Ember to me. But if you ask me, I'd do it all over again for any big and beautiful lady. And drake. I can't forget big and beautiful drakes of course.
