Biography
Sora always felt better when she was around Adonis. Due to them both being Mirrors, they hadn’t spoken nearly as much as one might expect for how long they had known each other, but she still felt closer to him than she did to any dragon except for Fritillary. Some of it, Sora thought as she sat in silence with him, watching the sunset, is surely because he doesn’t speak as much as the others. The presence of another dragon like her in the foreign Hewn City comforted her.
Sora, despite the difficulty in communicating, had become quite close to Fritillary. Although she had never spent much time with other dragon species before she met the Fae dragon, she had gotten used to having the tiny dragon around. Fritillary would check on her health whenever she returned, eternally concerned that she would injure herself again while hunting with Adonis. The Fae’s concern for her was one of the factors that kept her around that section of the Hewn City. If she did leave some day, she promised herself that she would at least say goodbye to Fritillary before leaving.
Mostly hidden behind a wall, Sora watched Lorella paint. Despite being a Wildclaw, Lorella had never gone hunting with her and Adonis. At first, Sora had just thought that Lorella didn’t want to hunt with Mirrors, but as she’d watched Lorella a bit more, she saw that Lorella hardly ever left the city, and when she did, she came back with dyes and painting supplies! Of course Sora knew that Lorella liked painting; it was one of the first things anyone learned about Lorella when she joined the clan. She hadn’t realized until recently, though, that it was almost the only thing that Lorella seemed to ever do. That, and talk to Fritillary. Sora wasn’t sure what to think about the Wildclaw.
Sora awoke to a leafy moth fluttering around her head. She watched it idly for a few minutes as it flew somewhat erratically, occasionally landing on her. Becoming bored, she lazily swatted at it, hoping to catch it in her claws without really focusing or trying. The moth would make a good snack for someone, maybe Fritillary or one of the other insect-eaters. It evaded her each time, though, and she eventually grew tired of it and decided to ignore it. It followed her through the whole morning, not seeming to care that she or any of the other dragons around could easily eat it. Still, she found herself growing fond of it despite its poor decision-making skills, and eventually even found herself glaring at any dragon that seemed likely to eat it. When Fritillary approached her, Sora found herself being wary of even the gentle Fae dragon.
“Oh, is that your pet, Sora?”
Sora looked at the moth for a second, contemplating Fritillary’s question. “I guess so.”
“I can protect it for you if you want. To make sure that nobody eats it.”
“Thanks.”
Fritillary concentrated for a moment, doing some sort of magic. A moment later, she looked at Sora again and said, “There, I’m done.” There was nothing visually different about the moth, but Sora believed what Fritillary had said.
