Coming back from the dead wasn't all it was made out to be, really. There was no flash of bright light, nor was there a frantic chant of his name getting clearer with each iteration. It was more peaceful - like waking up from a nap, or watching flames flicker into being on the logs.

Pain was the first sensation his mind registered before he slowly gained control of each limb. It wasn't from a Beastclan he'd been battling, surprisingly, but his own familiar, Rag. It'd always just know whenever he'd gone through another death, even if nobody else did. In a way, he was thankful for the angry raccoon. Right now not so much, what with it tearing clumps of fur from his skull.

Honour wrenched the creature from his front leg before it could do any permanent damage. Permanent damage, it was almost laughable. As if anything was permanent. Everything went back when he died, no changes whatsoever.

He just wished something, something would change. So that he could have even the slightest hope that he could escape.

But nothing happened. Nothing ever changed.
