xxxxxxxxxxxxxx The philosopher climbs up the many flights of stairs, making his way slowly towards the broken marble altar. He had to discover whom this shrine was dedicated to, or why it had fallen out of disrepair- it seemed strange, at least, that knowledge of this place has been lost. But he would be the one to rediscover and shed light onto this mystery.

He pauses, certain he heard a noise. Was it the wind? He looks up moments before he sees a flash, a thump, and there is only a whirl of colour- he makes out no clear image, but there is a beast, perhaps an apparition, with claws sharper than knives and its scratches sting like frost. He hears it growling, and the coatl attempts to fend it away with his tail, but makes no contact. Agony rakes across his face, and he lets out an unearthly roar, echoing through the chamber as a blast of light energy rips through the air. Marble pillars around him splinter and crack, and he hears them falling over and shattering on the floor. He tries to open his eyes, only to find that they are already open, but he sees nothing.

All that is left is a ruined chamber and a blinded coatl. 		Stone Knife
