Main Theme: The Prayer

______ It all began with a pair of Imperials residing with their clan on the Fishspine Reef. The two noble dragons stood guard over their nest. They had good reason for their protectiveness of it... the nest contained just one egg. For an Imperial dragon this was not good, given that they would not be able to breed again for quite some time. Their lone egg eventually hatched in the warmth of the summer waters, birthing forth a healthy female hatchling. Decidedly pleased that their offspring had survived the incubation process as they had intended her parents went on to name her Beth, short for 'Behemoth', as they quickly noted their daughter's considerable size for a newborn.

______ As Beth grew up she was very closely watched and guarded by her parental figures. Later on, though, she would become close friends with a Guardian dragon. She played and spent time with them every day throughout their adolescence. She was smitten with them. Not exactly in love with them, she was simply fascinated by them. When they reached their adulthood, however, Beth was brokenhearted to find out that her old friend had left to go on The Search. She longed to go on The Search herself and understand their devotion to it. Her parents, seeing how much she longed for that, bestowed upon her a great gift - a scroll with which she could transform herself into a Guardian. Touched by the gesture, Beth allowed herself to transform and went along on her journey. Her parents, satisfied that they had done their part, went on to exalt themselves unto Tidelord in the hope that they would be able to continue watching over their child from afar with his wisdom to aid them.

The Deity's Word

______ The Search was a relatively new concept to Beth. It was not something her old Guardian friend had told her about prior to his departure on that great journey, and given that she had only just become a Guardian herself she had little understanding of it. She was not put off, however; if anything the mystery of it drove her to continue on. She wanted to understand The Search and thereby get more of a feel as to why her friend had been so compelled to leave her. Though she never found her friend again as she travelled through The Sea of a Thousand Currents, Beth felt as though she were becoming more and more attuned with her element. Slowly but surely, her mind subtly altered its way of thinking and began to think more in the way of a true Guardian rather than a transformed Imperial. This change brought with it even more of a compulsion to search onward for something or someone to call her Charge. One day, however, something caught her by surprise...

______ "He needs your help..."

______ A voice emenated within Beth's mind as she swam on through the expansive sea. She heard it for a fleeting moment, clear as day, but when she looked around herself there was no one there. Who needed her help? For a few moments the answer was not clear. Soon, though, her attention was drawn by splashing and struggling at the surface up ahead. As she ascended she came upon a Spiral that seemed to have fallen into the water. Beth swam beneath him and lifted him up to the surface, thereby saving his life. That very Spiral, Levi, would go on to become her beloved Charge - at last, her understanding of The Search was made completely clear.
