______ Makanui is surprisingly lacking in ability as a seer in spite of her primal eyes, a phenomenon said to be a reflection of a flight’s element and deity. This has been a source of considerable frustration for her in her time, as she's unsure as to what her true path in life is supposed to be if her flight's greatest gift is denied to her. Despite this she is nothing but determined, curious and adventurous. She has a love of mangrove forests and shallow waters, where she can connect with dragons and other beings who live by the shores of the sea she was born in.

______ Makanui encountered a Serthis Potionmaster by the name of Laurel on one fateful exploration of the Sandswept Delta. The two found comfort in their mutual understanding of what it was like to feel out of place. This deeply strengthened their friendship over time and it was not long after this that Makanui formally took Laurel under her wing as her Charge to protect as they worked towards helping each other determine their true destiny. Together the two live by their own philosophy - when the tide will not carry you, you must make your own way.
