For hundreds of years she slumbered, locked away in the deepest mines of Cairnstone Rest. She was created a minor god of some power, but it was not time for that power to reveal itself. She might have slept another century if not for an ambitious band of miners that just happened to crack open the giant amethyst geode she was born inside. Astonished at what they'd discovered but unsure of the implications, the mortal dragons made off with their valuable plunder and left Chasida alone to face the new world.

It took days of pacing up and down the length of her cave before she could stand upright. Reaching the edge of her world and coming into first contact with the light of day, it took many days more to adjust to how bright everything was. She finally worked up the nerve to venture outwards--but not without a chunk of her home clutched firmly in her paw. She didn't notice until a mile's trek beyond her cave how brilliantly it glistened under the sun. It suddenly occurred to Chasida that this world was probably full of curiosities and secrets unfathomable to her before. Her mind reeled, her now restless wings twitched at the thought of all the things she would have to learn if she were to survive.

She journeyed for many miles before finding a small village in the shattered plains. There she lived for several months. She lived among the lesser dragons and learned their ways. What was safe to eat, and how to find it. The draconic tongue. She listened to stories of all the ages, learned of flights near and far, and became devout to her patron god. A priestess of the town lovingly referred to him as the Father, and Chasida to this day will call the Earthshaker nothing else. For it was he who gave her life so brimming with intrigue and beauty, and to him she decided to dedicate all of her adventures and experiences. It must have been his will that she should be released from her slumber.

ciBavhM.png There was only one thing at this point that remained unclear to the newly awakened dragon. She wondered what exactly her powers were. Chasida quickly came to realize that most dragons didn't sleep for one hundred years, let alone in a region of Dragonhome ridden with treasure and danger in equal measure. She felt something strong stirring inside her, but could not place it for the life of her. She spent the last month in her village stay with local mages and scholars as they all tried to piece together the puzzle of her revival and her true nature.

The more they worked on trying to bring out any magical potential, the more disappointed everyone became. She had a basic grasp of earth magic which didn't set her apart from anyone else. they then discovered that Chasida could commune with wild creatures and could revive plants to a degree. However, she didn't have the ability to talk with beastclans or any other immense linguistic ability. These were powers, but again, nothing of great import.

She did wake up one day and discover she was immortal. Because, on that day, she woke up with a spear through her heart, her body caked in half-dried blood. She ripped the spear out and felt no pain. Emerging from her hut, Chasida saw her home gone. Completely razed. The odor of torn flesh and more blood hung heavy in the hot, dry air. She collapsed onto the soaked ground and cried for days. She didn't understand. Because all she had known in her life was kindness and beauty up until that point.

Eventually she dried herself out. She trudged through the bodies of her dead friends and neighbors and questioned why she should be immortal when all of these sweet dragons, who let her live among them without charge or question, were beyond her reach. She found among the waste a sigil; a raven bathed in rays of piercing light. Soaked in blood though it was, she made her way to the archives and read that it belonged to a notorious bandit troop in the Sunbeam Ruins.

Gathering what provisions remained unsullied, Chasida left her second home in the dust. She journeyed without pause through the Tangled Wood. She breezed past the Mirrorlight Promenade, the Sundial Terrace...within eyesight of the Hewn City, where she had heard months ago the bandits had set up camp. Her heart stirred with mixed feelings, but she ignored them and ventured in.

Nothing. For an entire month she searched. Worked herself into an absolute frenzy. Overturned every rock, snaked behind every tree, questioned every dragon. But there were no murderers to answer her rage, her sorrow, her endless grief. By that time, she had grown tired of being so angry anyway that she doubt she would have done much had her search been fruitful. It still wasn't a satisfactory conclusion for her or those she had lost.

Now, her life lacked purpose. Chasida had an eternal life ahead of her and all she had to show for it were some measly powers and a whole well of sadness. She dejectedly left the Hewn City with hopes of settling down once more.

How she ended up in Clan Horesh of all places is anyone's guess. Though there are quite a few lost dragons and rejects among the clan's ranks, so maybe the broken part of Chasida's spirit was drawn in.

She entered the clan and was welcomed just as before. But, unlike before, in the quite distant past, these dragons were different. They were stronger, smarter, and had complicated pasts much as she did. They were wary of her intentions yet glad to see a fresh face. Protective of what was theirs and also happy to share it with the right dragons. She wasn't afraid that this clan would meet an untimely demise, which was what had prevented her from settling all along her journey here in the first place. Clan Horesh stood a chance. And she decided to stand with them.

She gave up on magic and began physical combat training instead. Chasida quickly became an excellent fighter despite her dainty frame. Her natural immunities to pain made her a foot soldier for the ages, able to struggle through the fiercest of battles without once buckling. She uses her resilience to her advantage, enduring long days' journeys to collect supplies left behind by her slain enemies. She also takes back a lot of food--often times, upon her return, her hands are stained black with blood from all of the slicing and skinning. There are those who are uncertain of her, who fear her, but she is kind and she is helpful in her own strange way.

And for Chasida's compassion and loyalty, Horesh grows mightier for her.
