 Amoral / Cruel / Patient Kyuubee began her loose association with Spinel's clan as one of Strelitzia's secrets. Some carelessness on his part revealed her to Fern, and the entire clan knew of her shortly thereafter. Vicious and cunning, Kyuubee seems an odd fit for Strelitzia. She makes the majority of the clan uncomfortable, and rumors about her personality range from arcane madness to whispers of the shade-touched. Spinel has yet to send her away, in part due to keeping Hunger occupied between conquests. The clan remains unaware of her motives, though she makes it a point that Strelitzia knows. Naturally disinterested in the notions of good and evil, Kyuubee is rooted in the ebb and flow of the arcane magic plunging in and out of worlds. Magic knows no morals, only raw power to be tapped and used as one sees fit. In truth, her magic has driven her rather close to the brink of sanity, and that looming plunge is an ever-present weight. Finding Strelitizia was luck, or perhaps fate. He is the embodiment of sharp awareness and deft use of the inherent magic of the realm, able to harness the deep power without using the magic itself. She needs that discipline, needs to bring her magic back under her control. Though good and evil are meaningless to her, Kyuubee recognizes that she would be classified as the latter, Strelitizia the former. In that goodness, he sees the parts of her that fall in the light as much as the darkness and still feels compelled to pursue her. She treats this with the gravity the behavior is due, working hard to treat Strelitiza with equal care. And as they worked to harness the world--for Strelitzia to heal and for Kyuubee to conquer--she found herself unwilling to give up being known with such bald honesty. |
