Biography
One of the most well traveled of the clan and by extension wisest, Brunnen has lived among all variety of dragons, and devoted his life to learning the intricate culture and social structures typical of each breed. This knowledge can be incredibly helpful during arguments within the clan, as they oftentimes arise out of misunderstandings.
Unfortunately his studies have led to him all but forgetting that each dragon is an individual. He no longer sees a being with a name and their own unique quirks when he looks upon another, he simply sees their breed and assumes it tells him all he needs to know. This has led to more than a few missteps in his time, and his general insensitivity is why he is more often used as reference than he is asked to referee disputes. He refuses to see the errors of this line of thinking, sure that in his years he has learned enough to not be wrong about something so simple. He claims that he would never discriminate, but his near refusal to associate with certain inhabitants of the lair suggests otherwise.
He does not travel anymore, and is often accompanied by Raku in his day to day routine about the lair. The young pearlcatcher has become somewhat of a hanger-on, hoping to glean any wisdom he can from the old snapper. Brunnen sees no issue with this, and is more than happy to indulge the younger. He has hopes of passing down his knowledge, to Raku perhaps, but also suspects there is simply too much to be trusted to the memory of one dragon, "especially a pearlcatcher," he would likely add in private conversation. As a result, his dear friend Panas has since taken up work as his scribe, and it seems that Brunnen spends more of his day dictating than anything else in recent times.
