"The world is a dangerous place..."

Heliel is an ancient kitsune. Very few know how truly old she is - some claim she's the direct descendant of the original imperials that became the first Kitsune. Or she's just survived for a very, very long time. Either way, Heliel has had the option to become Tenko since she was young and has never pursued it. Still, she would be a very even match in expertise for the Tenko. While the Tenko have gained more natural power by way of the Trials, Heliel has refined her power to a razor sharp precision and control. Even her size dwarfs many others.

Since Heliel is so old and so powerful, she tends to be set apart by other kitsune. Her attitude doesn't help. There is no softness left in her, beaten out by all the years of combat with the creatures of Remnant and just time passing by. Her tongue is very sharp and she doesn't hesitate to use it. Heliel is not exactly mean but is very gruff with her peers and often only comes to their aid when their predicament becomes dire. A compliment from Heliel is rare and far between but well-earned. She has very few friends because of this but those that she has she prizes very highly. Soldari, her half-kitsune younger brother, is one of the few. She found him when he was young and he has stuck to her despite her grumpy snaps for many years. Eventually her insults and grouses became toothless and Heliel finds she would be very sad to see him go. She doesn't ever say it out loud but she comes to his aid more often than others.

Shinobu, a young Redeemed Yako with a disturbing amount of power, once drove her limits. She defeated him, at great cost to both of them. Heliel had once been angry with Shinobu for his transgressions but over the years, their wounds have healed and so has the rift that drove them to fight so viciously. Now Heliel is a mentor to Shinobu on the outskirts of Glenreal. She helps him to control his power and bullies him back to his path when guilt threatens to overwhelm him.

Along with Shinobu and Soldari, Heliel spends the majority of her time patrolling the edges of Glenreal. She knows better than anyone the chaos that pervades the Kitsune homeland and that its unpredictability can still be catastrophic to their kind despite the great strides they've made to stabilize their home. So, she watches, she fights, and she waits.
