This Fae stares at you though a little hole in the lair she has carved out for herself, before snorting dismissively and going back to bed. Kari is rather quiet and antisocial. Unlike the other Faes, who simply don't know how to communicate, she refuses to. Kari has to be dragged to social events, and has to be prompted to speak. Even then she simply cannot be forced: you'll often get just a tiny shrug.

Kari originated from the region of the Molten Scar where she worked as a armor and blade forger, having no other option of making treasure. She didn't really enjoy her career at all: the flames were simply much too hot for her liking. Lacking the motivation to make effort to travel, she resigned herself to a lifetime of melting metals.

Around the Flameforger's Festival, Nishikigoi the Tundra appeared in Kari's territory. She failed to be chased off and excitedly asked Kari to be her new friend. The Fae took one look at the offending Tundra before pointedly ignoring her enthusiasm. Seriously, why did this annoying Tundra have to end up lost in her lair of all places? Was she even a Tundra? No Tundra she had seen before had such scarred, matted fur. However, seeing as Nishikigoi had travelled all the way over from the Plague domain, Kari eventually relented and even showed Nishikigoi around the festival.

After the festival, to her surprise, Nishikigoi asked her to come along. Nishikigoi explained that she was a wandering dragon who had decided to visit the entire realm of Sornieth to find out where she truly wanted to settle, though her decided goal was to travel to the Southern Icefield. Kari realised that this was her golden opportunity to turn her life around, and decided to accompany Nishikigoi in her travels. Kari to this day denies that it was because the Tundra was the first dragon who had ever talked to her as a friend. She just really hated her career, that was all!

Nishikigoi informed Kari that she had visited the Water, Shadow and Lightning regions before. Kari suggested to check out the next neighbouring region - Wind. After Kari bid a final tender goodbye to her old home (aka destroying it in glee) Nishikigoi and Kari set off to the Zephyr Steppes. After a week, they arrived. It was calm, quiet and peaceful here. The Spirals and Skydancers that surrounded this area seemed to have no other goal in mind other than to relax. Kari, ever the lazy Fae, adapted to this lifestyle immediately. Nishikigoi initially had some reservations about staying here, still wanting to travel to the Ice region, but she quickly changed her mind after realising that Wind had what she had always wanted - a carefree and relaxed lifestyle. Finally deciding this was home, the two set about making their lair near the Reedcleft Ascent. Kari couldn't do much with her size, but luckily they managed to find an abandoned cave shortly off a beaten path.

Kari was nervous about sharing a lair with Nishikigoi, and she thanked the deities that the Tundra had no idea how to read Fae body language. Over their long journey, the two had bonded and become best of friends, and Kari no longer found her constant companion annoying as she used to. The talkative Tundra made Kari realise what she had missed out on in being an antisocial hermit. This companionship - no, friendship - was something new to her, and Kari didn't want to lose her new friend anytime soon. The only problem was, Kari had more-than-friendship feelings for Nishikigoi, feelings that she didn't want to admit to anyone anytime soon, let alone herself. Peering at the larger dragon curled up asleep, Kari sighed before roosting in the small crack she had made for herself.

Over the next few weeks, the den they had made became bigger and bigger as Nishikigoi started digging further and Kari assisted her the best she could with magic. Nishikigoi was rather excited about starting a 'clan', what she had heard was a group of dragons that were as close as family. Nishikigoi suggested that this new clan she and Kari had made together would be open and hospitable to all dragons. If they wanted to think about looking for another place to settle down, the pair would be able to help them with their own experiences. Though disliking interaction, Kari didn't have the heart to say no to Nishikigoi's sparkling eyes. Weak, she was.

In the following years, their clan flourished more and more. Nishikigoi never named it, just referred to it as "the clan". Sure enough, slowly but surely dragons decided to stay. There were many who came and went, all thanking the duo for their help. Well, mostly Nishikigoi. The Tundra made sure to make every newcomer to the clan feel welcome, and even persuaded Kari to start giving newcomers a gift of decorative tree sap. Though Kari may be bad at social interaction, she always checks in on everyone at the end of the day to make sure they are safe. Kari is slowly improving, realising that she cannot just interact with Nishikigoi alone. Kari has started making attempts to communicate more and more often. Nishikigoi was ecstatic and gave Kari a small bundle of insects as a celebration.

One night, Kari eventually worked up the nerve to confess to Nishikigoi. Her speech was monotone as always, but her point was gotten across. Nishikigoi was thrilled, revealing that she felt the same way towards Kari. Kari's new mate gave her a gift of golden lanterns that she had specially asked Fleur for help to make - Kari was rather overwhelmed, but she couldn't say she disliked the thoughtful reminder of her birth region. To this day, Nishikigoi is the one dragon Kari shows open affection to - the Fae can be seen perching on Nishikigoi's furry back and snuggling into the patched fur of the Tundra during cold nights.
