Moonshadow

So named for her fascination with the way the moon slowly disappeared after her birth, Moonshadow is a swift and silent assassin. As she sees it, her much younger mate is still in need of protection, and the rest of her clanmates are mostly child-minders and socialites at heart. (She will admit a grudging respect for the Imperials, and that her former mate Boundless can hold his own.) Her official assignment within the clan is border patrol, but in reality she travels wherever she sees fit, doing whatever she must to protect her family. A grave tactical error earned her a scar in Bamboo Falls; never again will she fail to look up when fighting a pack of Hainu.

Moonshadow is perennially frustrated with her eldest son Bumbleberry, who has not only decided against joining the Windsinger (whom most of Moonshadow's children serve), but also settled into domestic life and taken up theatre. And of course his father is no help - skydancer fever, the lot of them. What's a respectable warrior woman to do?
