Dianna

ALL HAIL DIANNA, WARRIOR QUEEN OF CLAN DESTOPIA

The story begins, as it must, with her beginnings. Dianna and her mate Mikos founded the clan when they were young and times were simple; it was a place for their family to be safe and happy, nothing more. Then Mikos began to hold...rather grandiose ideas. More and more of the clan budget was spent on beautification. Outsiders flooded in. More hatchlings were born than anydragon knew what to do with. Dianna was never pleased with this, but these things were Mikos' purview, not hers. She was the hunter, the tactician, the brawn to his brains. She trusted him.

The final straw came when Mikos left her.

He left her for a silly young beauty with a head for numbers and not much else. He became unrecognizable. He sent Dianna away. She was given the option to be the lowest member of the clan, or leave to serve the Windsinger. Out of sheer spite she chose to stay.

Things were not quite as bad as she had feared; the other members of the clan, especially the warriors, still came to her for advice. They still trusted her, more than they trusted Beauregard. And slowly a plan came to her.

She formed alliances, the most important being with her new mate. Battlefield was largely disliked by the clan, preferring to spend his time with animals, but something between them clicked - a similar outcast nature, ferocity, drive. Together they convinced over half the clan that Dianna would make a better leader.

She persuaded the other warriors, Highlight and Moonshadow, to take her as a replacement for Beauregard on the team. It wasn't difficult - Beauregard was a talented mage, but even the best spells can't keep up with claws. Under Dianna's retraining they became even more powerful, and she herself grew from accomplished armchair tactician to veteran warrior.

All that was left was to make her move, and when Mikos and Beauregard retired to the nesting grounds yet again, Dianna pounced. While she had hoped to avoid fighting, she knew she would win if things came to that; they did, and she did. The fight was quick and tidy, leaving few casualties, although afterwards Dianna executed one of Beauregard's eldest children as a brutal example.

On their return, the former leaders found that they had been deposed, and their new hatchlings were immediately taken hostage. Now is a time of turmoil as Clan Destopia finds its new pattern of daily life.
