Biography
Far above the jagged and scarred land of the Wyrmwound, a Ridgeback dove and reared up in circles like an acrobat. Covered in thorned vines and delicate roses that seemed to never drop a petal, she was nearly like a flying hedge in her own right. The wind under her wings was comforting, warm, smelled like rot and sun-bleached bone. She knew that, whenever she tried to land, she would be met with her mate there to catch her- or maybe she would just hit the ground. It was never quite a sure thing, but it all seemed to work out well by the time she hit the ground. High above the clouds, when she figured she was probably in the right spot, she tucked her wings in and angled downwards. Falling and flying were two in the same, and as the air whistled past her spines and through her scales, she felt like she could almost smell the exact moment to whip her wings out alongside her body, slowing down enough that she hit the ground in a cloud of dust and not a cloud of broken bones. Oh well- maybe next time would be a bit more graceful.
