Biography
Lore Notes
--grew up on an island chain in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, home to a seer community
--began having visions of storms and drowning, culminating in the BotE storm caused by the reversal of the Twisting Crescendo
--the islands were flooded and many homes destroyed; young Marus was washed away to the Tsunami Flats
--discovered, washed up on an uninhabited strip of the beach, by Silas/Surf/Elandra/Njothr/scouts/sailors/etc. they were coming down to explore/offer to help in the aftermath and found a Bogsneak bby instead.
--he was in shock and wouldn't (couldn't?) tell them where he had come from, so they took him in.
--nowadays, he's taken up residence in one of the cliffside caves, and has gathered materials and artifacts with which to continue his seeing.
--a withdrawn fellow, viewed as something of a recluse (though this isn't uncommon for his breed)
--friends with Maevy and Tsima, of all dragons. Their connection is something of an odd one, but Maevy will come visit Marus' cave with scrolls on seeing or old prophecies/other interesting things, which actually spark some interest in the Bogsneak's otherwise sullen demeanor- even drawing out sarcasm at times (often in the form of snarky prophecies referring to "great misfortune" that'll befall Maevy).
--Tsima's silence and Marus' withdrawn nature mean they get along as well. Sometimes the three of them will sit in silence, watching the sun set over the ocean or occasionally trading stories.
--all in all... things worked out for Marus, mostly.
