Biography
Shebeen doesn't talk much about herself, being one of the more mysterious members of the Plague Clique. She might run Barebones' finances and supplies within the whale skeletons and old ships that she cobbled together, and love her family very much, but nobody really knows who she was before she came here, or even really who she is now, and that's exactly how she wants it to be.
Speakeasy and Talin, though she'll never say this out loud, are the best things that ever happened to her. Talin was a hatchling given to the clan as a sign of peace between the two, and for whatever reason Rem saw fit to offer her to Shebeen to raise. Though initially she struggled to understand why she'd been given a child to begin with given how much of a failure she felt at caring for her, one day the pair learned that Talin's parents had been exalted and her birth clan had collapsed. Losing everything was something Shebeen knew all too well, and from that day forward they only got closer together.
Though she had several suitors attempt to make her theirs, none of them succeeded. Too many of them either ignored Talin completely (the worst of which scolded her for having a child not of her own blood and insisted she oust Talin if she wanted his affection - he left the clan with a vicious scar and a clanwide order to give him another if he ever came back) or tried to manipulate Talin into speaking for them. Speakeasy wouldn't come to the clan until Talin was almost an adult, but his genuine attempts to get to know the two of them as a family and his respect for their bond caught Shebeen's eye, and it wasn't a surprise to either of them when he asked to become hers.
