Ostra is in charge of trade between Clan Caedis and the world, and spends much of what time she has at home furnishing the warmer caves designed for non-Ice dragons; those where walls are lined with fur or tapestry hangings, and heated stones or fire provide warmth for those that require it. Often, her girlfriend Madelian accompanies her around the lair, carrying larger items and chatting contentedly about what the rest of the clan's been up to while Ostra was away.

She is the most common correspondent between her home clan and other groups who have things to buy or sell, and maintains connections with several clans all across Sornieth. Much of her time is spent on trade journeys far from the borders of Ice. Her great love of silks and fine crafted goods is what drives much of the clan's luxury trade. She is also responsible for keeping track of the lair's finances and overall resources, and determining what is needed/what is surplus.
