Obelia

Obelia was already fully grown and named when she joined Clan Kaitos. However, she readily agreed to a name change ceremony, as she had never been fully content with her former name. However, Arrenzo would never have accepted this if he was aware of the possible side-effects of the renaming scroll.

Obelia lost all of her memories about her previous life and any skills she had acquired once upon a time. She was still able to function as a fully fledged dragon, but everything else was gone, and she was left in a confused fog. Arrenzo instantly took her under his wing, suddenly remembering the blank scroll that a once bewildered Druan had carried with him.

Over time, Obelia regained some of her confidence, but her previous life is forever lost to her, except for the occasional dream. This stopped bothering her, although she remained haunted. When she forgot her memories, Obelia also forgot her Search. She despaired, feeling unfulfilled, and tried to forget her worries by making a new Search - searching for her original Search. Her biggest fear was that she would never recover her original Search.

With the disappearance of Arrenzo and Druan, she found a new fear - the fear that one day she will lose all she loves. She policed the edge of Clan Kaitos' territory, determined not to lose anymore. This constant patrolling made her harder and stronger. She began to gleam wherever she went, and replaced her old flowery apparel for sturdy armour. A gleaming firebird befriended her, having been drawn by the shining new apparel, and her happiness finally began to grow.

Obelia eventually seemed to forget about her forgotten past, even as she left her guardian ways, growing spikier and tougher. She didn't even mind having to leave her original clan home, despite the others' fears. She calmed them, advising them that it was the dragons in the clan she loved, not the territory itself.

With this in mind, upon reaching their new territory, Obelia made sure to help the other dragons settle in, before she again resumed her patrol. The lightning at the very edge of the territory doesn't harm her in her new form and she vows to keep the other dragons safe to the very end. The dragons of Kaitos all trust her implicitly, and her gleaming presence makes even the more terrified of hatchlings feel safe. She no longer feels the despair she once did and happily revels in her role in its entirity.
