PATRIARCH

Where exactly Sludgie came from is a mystery. Some speculate he was a cast out hatchling, while others think him to have been sent to fulfill a mission by the Icewarden himself. Sludgie, for his part, doesn't know either - or if he does, he isn't letting on.

Wherever he may have come from, the fact remains that Sludgie (along with his mate, Slimey) played a central role in the founding of his clan, and continues to be a very important figure in such today. Although he would never take on such a title, the clan's other members see him as a sort of leader. He is, however, aware of how the others see him, and constantly strives to live up to their expectations, even when it means sacrificing his own well-being.

Sludgie attempts to do everything in the best interests of his clan. He has been known to send away his own children to conserve lair space for others (although not without educating them in the ways of Sornieth first) and frequently goes without to ensure everyone else gets whatever they need. Despite his gentle nature, though, he is ruthless in combat and works tirelessly to ensure safety - not only for his clan, but for all of Sornieth as well.

PERSONALITY

Sludgie is at heart a thoughtful, sensitive, loyal dragon with a knack for keeping things running smoothly. Though he can be reckless, especially in battle, his clan respects him immensely and attempts to model their behavior after his. In turn, he respects his clan.

He has been with his mate, Slimey, for as long as anyone can remember. Although they differ a bit, he treasures her dearly and often behaves as a lovestruck teenager would around her. As for his hatchlings, he typically rears them to adulthood and trains them in areas such as combat and logic before sending them either to the service of the Icewarden or to newly founded clans.

Among his peers, he is usually the voice of reason, but does not object to harmless merrymaking. Sludgie is best described as "responsibly jovial".
