The little bird chirped happily, welcoming the sun’s warm rays. His song got even louder when he felt an unmistakable presence closing. All trees, all flowers, and creatures welcomed Her as She passed by. Everything buzzed around Her, whispers ran around with disbelief. It was so long they have seen Her walking among the forest, leaving Behemot’s enormous shelter. But now, She walked slowly, looking warmly at her thriving domain. She smiled at the little bird, who almost fainted in his proudness to be able to make Mother smile. A nymph caught him before falling down and placed him back to the tree, stroking his head gently.
She was searching for something, it seemed and She knew well where could it be found. She stopped at the old, dying tree in the center of a grove. An almost lifeless trunk, a sad leafless memento that everything will end someday, but… She was not bitter about this. It is life’s unchangeable law. Where there is a beginning, there will be an end. And a new start eventually. That’s why She is here, to give a new start to some. She placed her claws on the dry bark and the old tree immediately began to sprout leaves. Its body shivered, and began to change form. The branches twisted, moved, blended, and split in demand, the leaves clogged together and within a minute a dragon’s shape stood before Her looking like a statue carved from wood.
A sprite stepped forward, emerging her tail. The petals bloomed, slowly revealing a pulsing green orb. She listened a little to the calm heartbeat of the spirit before blowing it. The orb dissolved into the air, the small particles encompassed the dragon-like statue. It shivered again, then moved its leaf formed wings, shook it’s head and slowly opened deep green eyes to see the world.
- Welcome back, my beloved child. – She smiled upon the awakening creature. – You know your duty well, but… don’t forget to live this time. – She whispered gently. – Go, find your home.
The creature bowed deeply and smiled before emerging from the ground.

After being revived in a new form at the hands of the Gladekeeper, Sapling explored the world with ability like he never had in his first life as a tree. Though his soul was ancient, he was also young at heart.

He traveled for ages, first leaving the Viridian Labyrinth into Dragonhome, and then to the Scarred Wasteland. There he was distraught to find everything in constant decay and plague. He tried to use his magic to regrow the land, but everything he created withered within days.

Horrified, he fled the rotting landscape until he came to the border of a shadowy forest. There, the spirit of a hawk appeared to him in dragon form, begging him to help save the tree she had lived in, which had caught some of that horrible plague. Determined to save something from the disease-ridden lands, he spent nearly all his magic to save it, before collapsing, exhausted.

The hawk spirit nursed him back to health while he regained his magic, which came slower than in his homeland in the labyrinth, but still steadily. Because of her kindness, he agreed to stay and defend her tree, and over time the two fell in love. They had a daughter named Tawnya, alive and mortal despite her spectral parents, who soon found love of her own in a young mirror named Isa.

Sapling and Hawk agreed to let Isa's clan settle near their tree, and they got to know the founders and leaders of the clan quite well.
