Biography
Ankuroth loves gold, if you couldn't tell. She's not greedy, though. She just knows she looks good in it. She's deeply practical, which makes her a good foil for Xandra and her wild bouts of enthusiasm. When Reko absolutely has to take care of something, Ankuroth will agree to translate for the Fae, and she willingly follows the younger Fae's lead in clan business.
Ankh inserted herself into the clan hierarchy early, but doesn't talk about it much. She's content to let the others argue while she deals with things. She introduced Cullen to Yophiel when the former was just a hatchling, and is amused at how the friendship has blossomed.
Ankuroth and Stark have an... interesting... relationship. The older dragon thinks the younger is insolent, arrogant, and not nearly as clever as he thinks he is. Stark thinks Ankuroth is manipulative, just as arrogant and not nearly as clever as she thinks she is.
...privately, friends of both generally agree that they're both right, and that it was rather unexpectedly diplomatic of both of them not to mention that they're both very vain.
Since no one in Clan Sunleaf is aware of Ankuroth’s involvement in Dor’s crew of thieves (they all think Dor’s in charge), it’s hard to say how long the Pearlcatcher has been part of the gang. Ankuroth is the reason they’ve been going for bigger scores, but she’s not after the loot. No one knows what’s in it for the wily elder, but overall, her schemes help more than they hurt, and her maneuvers have kept the rest out of trouble with the other clan elders more than once.
{More detail to come later}
Ankuroth got Pala into trouble and, while she convinced the others that she wasn't trying to aid the rebellion and was caught herself, Xandra still ordered her confined to her own lair and Reko asked her to relinquish her position on the council, temporarily for now. Instead of jockeying for her position and lording it over his fallen foe, Stark has been helping the Pearlcatcher cope with the surprising grief over the losses from the rebellion. However, while nothing was ever said aloud, it's clear that Dor is no longer associating with the elder and holds her responsible for her kin's banishment.
...she's being melodramatic. Xandra had nothing to do with the mask.
A swirl of fire and sparkle swept into the lair during the Flameforger's Festival, seeking out a quiet lair where once many dragons had met and plotted. As the swirl developed a face, Ankuroth, grown semi-reclusive, still put on her best company manners for this surprise guest. The small creature pointed at her pearl and then its own sparkling stone. In a voice of hissing flames, it said "Sssame? Friend?"
Ankuroth brushed the ash off her pearl and said, "Come in and see some of the citrines I've collected."
