Born into the Plague Flight by two devout plague worshipping dragons, Davik knew that her purpose in life was to serve the plague. Her parents raised her in their clan, teaching her their ways of acceptance of both others and disease. With her mother being the leader of the Bone-Garden, she was groomed to be a leader since hatching. However, her mother was protective of her child; she was never allowed to go out into the Wandering Contagion until her parents felt that she was mature enough. After reaching adolescence, her mother took her aside one day and told her “My dearest Davik, I have kept you here long enough. You are now grown, and I cannot keep you from the world any longer. You are free to leave my child, and to see the world for yourself. Remember your teachings, and that you are always welcome back.” With a final tearful hug for both of her parents, Davik left the Bone-Garden, unbeknownst to her, for good.

After being released from her pseudo-prison, Davik flew the world seeing everything there is to see. She learned about the ways of other flights, expanding her knowledge and her world view. Eventually, she felt that she had found enough and wished to return home; but when she came back to the Bone-Garden, everyone was gone. She was alone. Not knowing what to do, she fled, taking off into the skies yet again. After days of flying, she finally landed at the colosseum, the last place she knew she saw others at; but when she landed, it was nearly empty of all except one. Tired, alone, and hungry, she approached the mirror. “Please,” she said, ”I am alone. I have nothing. I left my old lair to find a new life, but when I decided I no longer desired that, everyone was gone. I don’t know what to do! Everyone abandoned me!” The mirror looked at her for a second before asking an odd question. ”Does this make you mad?” Taken aback, Davik could only reply ”Of course! For my entire life I have been told about acceptance and helping others, but when I decide I need help from my old clan, they abandon me!” The mirror nods, before gesturing behind her to the colosseum. ”Then let’s let out that anger.” Following the mirror’s lead, Davik went into the colosseum and, for the first time in her life, allowed all the conflicting feelings and anger she had bottled up inside of her out. It felt amazing. They spent hours fighting together before Davik finally wore herself out.

”Thank you,” she said, ”what’s your name?”

“I am Malady, of the clan Abiding Strainwound. You seem like you need a good night’s rest. Why don’t you follow me, and I can let you stay with us for a while.”
From that moment, Davik was a part of the clan, spending her free time fighting with Malady in the colosseum. While she didn’t intend to stay, she found herself a home in the group of plague worshippers, one she had thought she lost.
