Biography

I belong to ShadowPiper - To be Sedona Build w/ Nettle

Forekai was cast out and left for nothing, considered by his clan one of the ugliest dragons one could lay eyes on. Swept up by an exalting clan, where he would be trained and sold to the deities in exchange for Sorenth's currency, he would hide to escape the ceaseless teasing. Believing that he was as good as lost, unloved, and worth nothing but a few pennies, he was rescued by a scouting group from Sugar's clan. Their goal to rescue hatchlings from such fates, and show them they're loved.

Now, as an adult in Sugar's clan, he continues to hide his face out of fear of being rejected, even if it will never happen. He hopes one day he'll find a dragon that'll think he's the most beautiful thing in the world, and he'll believe them enough to get rid of his Cowl.

He finds solace in the companionship of Braethen, and despite feeling comforted by her own marred scales, he still can't find the confidence to show his own

Upon finding long scarves and discovering his knack at scavenging and finding valuables, Forekai became the lead Scavenger, donning new cloaks and wraps made from pieces he's found in his travels across all different flights.

On one of his scavenging journeys, Forekai ventured into a beautiful but dangerous forest, looking for shade, rest, and rare plants and insects. The reason this forest was so dangerous was due to the BloodSiren clan, a group of an unknown number of red and pink scaled dragons so enchanting, none had been known to escape their grasp, either dying in the forest or becoming so mentally unsound no-one could get anything from them.
He sat under a tree, and closed his eyes, enjoying the quiet, when he heard one of the most beautiful sounds he had ever heard. He didn't open his eyes, and instead hummed along, tapping his claws along in an off sort of rhythm. The leader of the BloodSirens, Myra, had chosen her new target, Forekai. He very nearly died that day, but Myra made one mistake, she called herself his only love, when his heart was still very raw from the loss of his beloved Braethen. It snapped him from wherever he was, the sheer heartache of another not understanding what that Guardian had been to him. He fled with incredible speed. Myra, infuriated by her only loss, wanted him even more, her hunger growing into something unbelieveable. She dove after him with an angry screech, and broke one of the age old rules, to never leave their enchanted home. She chased him right back to SugarSand, where she learned of another kind of love, not one based on hunger. Forekai soon learnt to love again, this time it was the crazy spiral who was so attached she chased him hundred of Kilometers and risked everything.

Forekai soon learned however, that love and trust are fragile things when Myra went into hiding, from him. In the last battle against the followers of Arenji, when the clan was torn in two, he killed others with no mercy or restraint, showing his cold and heartless nature born from a childhood of cruelty and a lifetime of loss. He scared away his second love, broke her heart. He never saw her again, and adds her to his slowly growing list of lost loves.

After many years of slowly escalating unrest, Forekai came to a revelation. The horrors befalling sugarsand was something unavoidable, and the escalating tension and outbursts between Sugar and Viven were no longer denyable. The fragile and self-conscious fae had been roped into one-to-many arguments as the defacto second in command, and he could no longer stand by it, by either of them. He vowed before his cracked mirror that he would do better for himself, that his life was more than the sum of their achievements. He had the knowledge of years of trading and travel, and the respect of many who would follow him if he asked it of them. He could feel his rage boiling just below the surface, his magic that lay dormant and unused twising with torment. It was something he hadn't felt in a very long time, passion and a desire for something better, something right. He clenched his fist as heard Sugar and Viven's screeching echo across the earthen walls of their home.

The sound of earth falling as magic carved it from their fighting was the final trigger. with all the anger and desperation he felt, Forkai burst from his room, cowl bundled tightly in his fist as he entered the main hall, where the two were fighting another bitter battle. He barely had to thin the words before he was screeching them above the din of their conflict. Words he wanted to say for a very long time were said, and couldn't be taken back now as Viven turned his anger on the much smaller merchant. But his red claws would get no closer than a meter, as Arcane barriers were conjoured by Forkai subconsciously, Sugar knocked aside from the force of the conflicting spells coliding. Adolebitque, Lemonlors, and Nettle watched in horror from their tunnels, as Viven was thrown backwards and Forekai was the last standing, trembling in anger and goggle cracked, robes tattered but intact. On the floor Sugar's pearl lay cracked in three pieces.

Forekai said nothing as picked up the piece nearest to his feet, and held it tightly in his claws. "I'm sick of this. Let this be a reminder to you then. I'm leaving, and I invite any who have dispised this infighting as much as I have to follow.' He didn't look back as he took flight, leaving the clan he'd called home since his earliest memories, with three others close behind him, Adoblebitque the blind metalsmith, Lemonlord the scholar, and Nettle the social outcast.

The four of them landed on the outskirts of the plaguelands. Forekai knew no place else to go to aside from the ruins and tunnels of his first home, the birthplace of Sugarsand, deep in the Abiding boneyard. He gave them one last warning, that this would be the point of no return. If they were following him, they were in it for the longhaul, and the birth of a new clan, an outpost for all the wandering souls, weary travellers, and worthy merchants that need a bed to rest in, or a stall to share their wares. A place of absolute neutrality, from the lowest of the low to the wealthiest of royalty, none would be treated better than another, none would be turned away from the open doors, a place where your previous actions were ignored, and your current decisions dictated how you were treated.
Of course, there were no leavers, they had followed knowing full well what they were doing, what they were running from. Forkai smiled under his mask as he fixed his cowl and his satchels, and the others did the same, and he rose the fragment of pearl to the sun. The light danced through every layer, and cast a light visible for miles, a light that pointed them in the direction of Home.

Months of tedious travel, and they had neared their final destination. A few random dragons joined and left, and others replaced them as the group grew and shrunk over time. Dragons and bestclan alike were welcomed to travel with them, a guarentee of safety and companionship the only promises until they left. Stories shared and goods traded. As they went they carved a path in the red sand behind them, and Nettle carefully brought to life signs crafted from once living trees that directed any who crossed the path in the direction of the future Outpost, and the current gathering of individuals looking to create a new start.

Forekai paused before the great hole in the sand, partially filled and caved from lack of maintainence. The entrance to the catacombs he and many others once called home. Broken bones lay in the sand around the area, the great battle that forced them from here but a memory now, with only a few fragments left as a reminder that would soon be lost to time. He decended, clearing the path with the aid of others as he went, allocating temporary rooms as he went. Once the basics were done, he couldn't help but stand before the great mosaic mural inlaid in the main hall, and he felt his chest tighten as he remained still and silent. A mosaic of Viven and Sugar's wedding day, the day everything became official, the clan was given it's name, the day they thought that nothing could crack through the life they had built. But then Alchemist had arrived with Mags, and everything had come crashing down to this point. He gently ran a claw over it, dust sticking to his scales as he shook his head and left to go to his own, old room, and to begin the plans for his master creation. Staying here in the tunnels was only temporary, and a nasty reminder to him. Once the Outpost was finished, the tunnels would be caved and sectioned off, with only certain areas used as accommodation and living space to the many he knew would pass through. Any reminders would be locked away forever and left to rot, and Forekai couldn't wait for that day to come.

As days turned to months, construction was achingly slow, with only a few inexperienced hands creating a structure large enough to comfortably hold a dozen of the largest dragons on sorneith, and then hundreds more. A single pillar in the center to support the structure, pathways forming a walkway above to proide safety to smaller visitors who would otherwise be trampled. Only the frame of the building had been constructed, and Forekai was begining to tire, as was the few who remained by his side. But then his saviours came, two mighty and ancient imperials who'd heard of his endeavors and came with much needed materials and strength, as well as a dozen eager helpers. With their help, the building was constructed significantly faster with greater ease, and after what seemed like too long, the Outsider's Outpost was finished, a mighty building in the middle of the most inhospitable reigon in the entirety of sorneith. Celebrations were held, and it wasn't long before the Outpost was known far and wide, hundreds of dragons passing through its doors each week. It was all that could have been hoped for as he held tightly to Nettle beside him, head resting on his shoulder as they watched from atop the pathways, overlooking the crowds of dragons below. A new love had snuck it's way into his life like a small plant, unnoticed until it had claimed the entire garden. Nettle's unyeilding patience and support had given Forkai all he needed to succeed, and his Love had been the cherry on the metaphorical cake. Together as the leaders of the Outpost, with Adolebitque, Lemonlord and a faithful newcomer Manix as the vice-leaders of the operation. Junno and Arard did not go unthanked for their priceless gifts of strength and assistance, and were crowned the guardians of peace and structure of the Outpost, managing anything that threatened to get out of hand and keeping everyone safe.

Forekai holds two Softly Glowing Pendants around his neck wherever he goes. A shattered one as a reminder to those who'd he'd once loved, and a meticulously maintained one to have as a reminder of the one he cares most for in his life, Nettle
