Biography

It would seem that Meg has left her home lair (12962, Zikul), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Why her parents had gone to Fire Flight to lay their nest, Meg wasn't sure; all it meant to her was that she knew she'd never feel at home in Light. The training schools there were only geared towards Light dragons, the methods and magica taught only Light spells. Frustrated at her own perceived impotence, Meg decided to leave and find teachers elsewhere. Or disappear, perhaps, so she wouldn't be such a burden to her parents anymore.

HereBeeDragons
Meg came to the lair of HereBeeDragons as just a hatchling. Why she was running around on her own at such a young age was unclear, but she seemed cold and hungry, so the clan took her in. They gave her a warm sweater and a pair of cozy socks. They filled her tummy with grasshoppers. And then they set her loose to see what she would do.
What Meg chose to do was make herself right at home. She picked blackberries with Simon and made art with Picasso. She hung out by the fires as Tykka told stories, and she learned to knit from Elizabeth. She made friends with each and every familiar in the clan - this took quite a while because there were more than 500 of them. Weeks went by, and just as the clan thought she was settling in for good, Meg looked up one day and decided that it was time to move on. There was so much more of the world to see, and Meg wanted to see it all. Toodle loo!
Lopika
The 2nd clan Meg visited was a rather big Wind clan. As she arrived, the new warriors were undergoing training and Meg excitedly joined them. She learned a few fire spells and some healing spells from SpiritForged, the main magic user of the clan. She met new familiars in her free time and learned a bit about baking from the baker family lead by Joanna. As she was meeting and greeting everyone, a handsome guardian charmed her. During her stay they spent a lot of time together talking and Meg felt an emotion she was not familiar with. PoisonIvy, the guardian taught her what love was and the had a giant nest of five. She decided to leave after a few weeks, and she received a cape to make her travels even more comfortable in good and bad weather alike.

The third clan she traversed to happened to be another Wind Clan. Surprisingly, she didn't find anyone that was stronger than her here. Thankfully however, a very kind Imperial named Topaz let her stay for a while within his clan. She met more familiars, learned new names, and even trained a couple young dragons. Two fae dragons in particular piqued her interest. A male fae named Regis and a female named Dusk. The two were determined to learn how to battle. While they were weaker than ever, she didn't give up on them. The three went through a giant boar in the Arena, many enemies, and even managed to find some familiars for other dragons.
Before Meg decided it was time to leave, Dusk approached her with a familiar. The young fae wanted to thank Meg for all that she'd done there at the clan. Dusk was truly inspired by Meg, and wanted to become a strong dragon herself. Regis then joined in, admitting that he really enjoyed her company. The always stoic Regis smiled, wishing her good luck in her travels.

Nothing seemed off about the little motel that Meg had stopped at in her travels. Sure, the young Opal always seemed a little too eager to learn magic, but that was just him being excitable. Nobody was stronger than her there, but young Opal and an up-and-coming Mirror named Chrysoberyl sought out her teaching. So, she taught them in the Coliseum. Chrysoberyl seemed especially keen on leveling up, for some reason.
One evening, a Guardian had approached her quickly, hurriedly explaining that all of the training that Chrysoberyl had undergone was to overthrow the motel owner Tourmaline and her mate and co-owner Dioptase. As soon as Meg found out, she rushed over to Chrysoberyl's room, grabbing Opal as well. But it was too late, as just as she came downstairs, Chrysoberyl had done it. She had captured her mother, the hotel owner, and now was in command of the Clan.
She bade goodbye to Opal quickly, saying that she couldn't live in the Clan that she had helped to overthrow inadvertently. Before she went, though, Opal made sure to give her something to remember him by. She bade goodbye to Opal and a few others, and made her way across the Reedcleft Ascent alone.

After tumbling around in the wind, Meg found herself right back where she started. The first thought that went through her head was the welfare of the young Opal. She found him deep in study, and he greeted her with childlike joy. "Opal, you're certainly stronger than where I left you. What happened?" she asked, perching on his shoulder.
"I honestly don't know," was his response.
Meg chuckled, and spent a few days studying with him. She smiled. It was like watching her own child grow up, she thought to herself. Yet the memories of the Mirror started to flood back to her. Before she bid Opal goodbye, however, he approached her with something wrapped in a blanket. It cried and squealed, and it was about as big as Opal himself. Upon closer examination, there were little tendrils of shadow magic that were holding the bundle up.
"It's an Imperial hatchling," said Opal quietly. "Mickey saved him from becoming a gladiator here, but now he's got nowhere to go. Do you mind taking him to a good home?" he asked.
Looking closer, Meg examined the hatchling. A shadow dragon, lightly colored like Opal. She nodded. "I will most certainly take him on my travels. Thank you, Opal."
After a long, heartfelt hug, the two parted ways, and Meg had taken the young Gwynfor under her wing.

Over time, Gwynfor grew and even they seperated. The next stop on her travels was a small clan on the outskirts of Arcane territory. It seemed to have almost an aura of welcoming magic, and no sooner had she stepped foot in the lair than a mulberry Fae, introducing herself as Pythia, fussed over her and made her feel right at home.

Very few things Pythia's clan enjoyed more than visitors, and more than a few visitors had been so enchanted by the clan they had chosen to stay. Even if Meg didn't plan on staying permanently, an invitation was extended to stay as long as she liked. The aura of the clan was unlike any other she had visited, each one there took magic and prophecies with a downright religious reverence.

She stayed for weeks, enjoying the lavish attentions of the various clan members, who had never met a Fire-originating dragon before. She helped train some of the crew, who had never known more battle skills than a spell here or there. But of course, the itch to fly returned, and she bid farewell and made her way to her next stop.

Distain
What was supposed to be a quick rest stop in an Earth clan ended up as the closest thing to settling down Meg had ever experienced. Part of it was due to Desino, the hulking guardian who took one look at her and declared she needed protecting, and hardly left her side after that. Meg initially protested this, as she felt she could certainly hold her own after all this time, but Desino was adamant.

After a bit, she found she enjoyed the company. She and Desino joined the previously nonexistent coliseum team, alongside an antisocial but strong Imperial fighter who always seemed to have something heavy weighing on his mind.

And oh, the adventures they had! They slashed through frigid forests, mystic shrines, and swampy deathtraps with uncanny teamwork. They suffered some losses, skedaddling back to the lair to nurse their wounds, but for the most part the trio blazed triumphantly through the beastclans ranks. Meg became a beloved teacher, training young and inexperienced dragons on the ways of fighting and survival, seeing them off before they flew to new clans or to serve one deity or another. For the first time in a very long time, Meg started to wonder if she had finally found her niche.
