Hecate found herself in Starbreak City, a map clutched in one claw, a list of names and locations in the other. She was half way down the list already as the sun set, darkness blanketing the dwellings and alleyways. A few dragons were still out and about, taverns and bars light with music and laughter. The university, even at this distance, could be seen, with its large windows filled with candles and shadows. A cold wind was sweeping through, telling of the winter that would soon be coming. She was no stranger to the cold, but wished to be back home in the wastes before winter fell upon her. But she needed this, a chance to find these people and seek out the cure.
A traveler had spoken to her in the tavern, about a being whom could help cure her curse. He could rip out the wolf and set her free. Or just rip out her soul in general. Hecate was still unsure if she should even be seeking out this being, but she needed to meet him first before she struck up a deal.
The map told her to take a street, one dark and narrow, void of life. Her senses pricked, danger lurked nearby. Ignoring the wolf, it kept speaking of 'danger danger', the Witch kept on going. Hecate was maybe halfway from the next street, a corner, when she felt something shift behind her. Darkness. She turned and jumped back just in time as an outstretched claw made a swipe at her. Green locked with plagued red, uncaring of the difference in their height. This made the other, an imperial whom oozed with power, hesitate.
"It is not polite to sneak up on someone like that." The scolding came out in a low growl, as if she were speaking to a hatchling rather than a would be attacker. The blood colored imperial brandished his teeth, taking another swipe at the small female. Hecate danced out of reach once again, her fiery red wings flaring in challenge.
"Back, Gau!" Her eyes flashed, a grin appearing across her face as the demon gave a start.
"That is right, Demon Lord. Lazy Undertaker. Plagued Warlock. Sinful Necromancer. I know who you are, and of what you can do." His confusion gave away to a grin at her many titles for him.
"Why my dear, if i didn't know better, I would think you were praising me." Hecate rolled her eyes, seeming to scoff at the very idea.
"No, I was flirting. Please don't tell me your as dense as you are handsome, that is the last thing I need right now." She chuckled at his scowl, the blush across his face barley visible in this dark.
"Come demon, let me be the one to make a deal with you for once." Together they walked deeper into the darkness, swallowed up by it's shadows.
