Before Vera, Dior travelled the icefields, lingering in clans near her parents, and luxuriating in the richness of the furs she found in those markets. The call of silk and linen took some time to take effect, but an invitation to an apprenticeship in the Great Furnace finally drew her to the continent. She studied under masters who tamed heat and glass to weave coats shimmering and fine as partridge down. Her apprenticeship completed, she was sent to teach until she understood how much more she had to learn. It was in a small boarding school in the Molten Scar that she met Vera. Vera, eager to learn and stifled beneath her mother’s wing blossomed. Dior thought long and achingly of tales of frozen hearts melting, and lost in the stories Vera told of dragons who wove cloaks from ash and slippers from seafoam. One bright morning, they packed up a little food and eloped.

Where do they go now?

The couple soon found themselves in the shimmering and glittering lands of the Lightweaver. They found a clan willing to host them for a few months as they crafted and sold one-of-a-kind apparel and jewelry. Their customers—dragons from the Sunbeam Ruins, mostly—were very friendly, and glad both Dior and Vera were there to sell their well-made goods. Their names were spread across the neighborhood, and dragons were willing to fly long and far in the hopes to purchase something from them. It was a busy day at Dior and Vera’s stand (set up on the outskirts of The Solaire Archives—the clan with which they stayed), but not so busy as to disrupt their frequent naps in the sunlight, cuddled together upon the ruins, birds singing sweet songs in the distance.

It was a pleaseant stay, and Dior was glad she’d come. With some currency to spare, she went out shopping with Vera and they bought some souveniers to take along with them on their travels. Once they’d bid their farewells to their host clan, they packed up and took to the skies once more.
