Tyra was always a scrappy thing, fighting for her place in the world even fresh from the egg. She used her plant magic to trip up her rivals and when she was older to poison or burn her enemies. Tiny though she was, her magic made her more than able to hold her own against foes many hundreds of times her size, and she was gutsy enough to go after them, too. This made her a valuable hireling, and she spent many years acting as a bodyguard, escort, guard, hired thug and bouncer to anyone willing to pay her steep price. She became famous in a quiet way. She wasn't a household name but those who were inclined to use her services always found her with ease.

Unfortunately, a lifetime of cashing in on bloodshed gains many enemies. Tyra did her best to keep her personal life and her business separate, but no one could expect one so young and talented to keep up their guard all the time. Tyra had settled in a quiet, secluded area hidden in a thick jungle. It was there she wove a nest for herself and there that she kept her three young hatchlings, doing well on her own despite having no mate to care for them as well. Her children were her treasure, the most important thing she hid away in her hideout. A vengeful dragon and her band learned of this and found her nest, slaughtering the hatchlings when their mother was away. Grief-stricken, Tyra buried her heart with her babies and never bore a nest again, fearing another such retaliation.

After such a tragedy, one would expect her to give up the trade that cost her her motherhood, but Tyra became only more ruthless, killing without hesitation and eliminating anyone who may hold a grudge when she could. She worked best alone but occasionally found herself in a team, though ultimately all she had was herself. For years she was a highly sought after hire, especially when the business was bloody. Tyra was numb, and no longer felt fear; death meant being with her babies again, and living was being apart. She didn't have a death wish, but she wouldn't have minded to die either.

Time smoothed down her bitter edges and soothed her wounded heart. Eventually the job became joyless and she no longer desired to drown her ghosts in blood. However, for someone in such a dirty and violent business just getting out wasn't an option. She allowed a job to go south and faked her death, leaving behind everything from her old life. She sought asylum in a clan who laired in a hidden cove, well protected and hard to find. No one in Amarayne knows her past, nor why she chose to live among them, but she has found it easy to slip in among the ranks. Clan life is new to her, and just the sort of thing she needs to begin her new life.

Tyra may be retired, but her temper remains. She works hard not to lash out, but annoying her is still inadvisable. She has been pestered into blacking eyes or cracking bones in the past, though usually a very sound smack from her vines and branches is enough to get the point across. She's trying to break this habit, as word of a fae with a temper and a gift for plant control could find her out to her old crowd.

Conversations with her tend to be shallows and brief. She intentionally reserves herself so that she won't get carried away in her talk and bring up something incriminating. She trusts no one but herself, and even if she did find someone to be open with it is unlikely she would reveal her true nature. Someone who knew who she was would be even more of a threat, as she's supposed to be dead, and given that she left with a lot of unpaid dues, she'd likely end up actually dead were she found out.

Her pride and joy is the armor she wears. She left behind her old set, but quickly found a new one just like it. She doesn't wear it in the open, not until she changes her appearance more, but she does care for it carefully, polishing and cleaning it like an old pro. She has stern words for anyone wearing poorly cared for armor, and will often force a dragon to remove and clean it properly if they return scuffed armor to the armory. Because of this she has been given the charge of the clan's armory, and she is very insistent on giving a crash course on armor care to anyone coming to claim her stores.
