lightningv1.png At night it begins, a song like a prayer that flows through the halls of Amarayne like a gentle wind. All who hear the dulcet tones feel relaxed, at ease, even if they may have been angry or upset mere moments before. The song does not stop until the singer herself, the nocturne Lullaby, falls asleep in her little silken hammock. Yes, the little nocturne sings herself to sleep and has gotten so good at it that she puts everyone else to sleep too. Those suffering from insomnia beg to bed down in her room, knowing that her song will lull them to sleep as surely as a glass of warm longneck milk. No one knows how she gained such an ability, nor why despite the effectiveness of her song on others it takes her so long to work on the dragoness herself, but some think it may be a supernatural side effect from her unusual birthday.

Lullaby's song actually doesn't work on her at all, a fact she's not revealed to anyone. She must sing to exhaust herself, and only then can she get sleep, although it is often fitful and plagued with nightmares. Lullaby keeps this to herself, however, because she knows how useful her gift is to her clan and doesn't want them to worry over her.
