There is a land on the border between the great Windswept Plateau and the Sea that is little-walked. It is a land of harsh, jagged cliffs, that falls away into tumultuous, crashing waves; a never-ending battle between earth, wind and water. Few dragons live there, but some migrate that way on the path to more hospitable destinations. Those that do gather many tales along the way, in that harsh and bleak borderland.

One of the more well-known of those tales is of Tethys, a witch who - legends claim - makes her home amidst the roughest and most secluded region of that lonely landscape. Some say she is a diabolical beast that steals away hatchlings from their families to become her servants. Others say she is a spirit who doesn't only live amongst the wind and water, but controls them. Others still claim she is merely a hermit who has adapted to that harsh land, and offers aid to those lost in her domain.

One thing all the stories agree on, though, is the graceful way she navigates those stormy seas, and darts between stone spires and beneath arches with the same fluid ease that any other Wind dragon might ride the calmer breezes inland.

Occasionally, word of such tales reach Tethys herself; perhaps she has occasional visitors who bring her such news, or maybe she simply hears these words whispered in the wind? And the great stormrider, seadancer, squallspinner... she smiles softly, bemused by such elaborate stories, and wonders once again whether anyone will ever learn the truth - and whether anyone would believe it if they did.
