Grandson of the mighty Emerald, and son of the beloved Prince Tairus, Summerland has a great deal to live up to. Like many of Emerald's descendants, he was born with a touch of magic. His magical ability makes flowers blossom in his wake, hence his name. He likes to wear some of these flowers as ornaments, and the wondering Clan has observed that when these blossoms adorn him, they never shrivel and die.

Summerland is third in line to the throne, not because of birth order (for primogeniture is not practiced by Clan Gemstone), but rather due to his kind and tolerant nature, as well as the way he easily solves even the most difficult disputes amongst the Clan. As of yet he does not command the almost instinctive respect granted Emerald and Tairus, but he is still young, and it is widely believed that he will develop the unmistakable gravity of a true ruler as he ages.

His mate, Trix, is a true water dragon, having resided in the dark depths with her clan before becoming curious about the sunny world above, and swimming up to the surface in order to learn more. Summerland saw her rising out of the waves, and was instantly smitten. His love for her is constant and true, and he is unlikely to ever choose another mate in her stead.
