Cream

He was once a pet, as is common with Mirrors. It was shortly after the humans tried to overthrow their dragon counterparts, that they began taking prisoners.

Mirrors were their first choice. Dog-sized, and easy to control. They captured a few, and before long they were breeding them. And them keeping the offspring as pets. Training them, riding them, all in the sake of demoralizing the other dragons.

Eventually it became a fashion statement. Mirrors became an expensive pet to own, and having one meant that you were a person in position of power. Different bloodlines emerged, some worth more then the rest. Cream was one of the most expensive lines there were.

It was a line that was prized for it's fighting capabilities. In a cruel turn of events, humans began to breed mirrors to fight, each other. Humans rejoiced in the violent, and they enjoyed the bloodshed.

Cream may have been from a gladiator line of dragons, but he was no fighter. Battle after battle left him wounded, and weak and injured. And then came the beatings. Each lost fight meant a lashing from his master, who grew more and more tired by the day.

His human master had spent great money to purchase him, and to find he had purchased a dud left him furious. The fights got worse, and so did the beatings. Soon after the Master took both his food and water, in an attempt to force Cream to fight.

The only solace Cream could find was in the tiny hedgehog who would curl up beside him at night. He slept alone, locked in a cave until his master needed him. Cream began to rely on his little familiar for kindness.

Eventually, the Master grew tired of him, and beat him half to death. The master probably assumed he would die, because he tossed him into the woods like rubbish. For days Cream lay there, bleeding and unable to move.

His little hedgehog met him outside the gates, but was unable to help him. The thing that saved Cream's life was Ruby.

She came in like an angel, the sun glittering off of the rubies attached to her skin. Bright red was what he remembered from those hazy days.

She healed him, using plants from the forest. Upon awakening, he knew he had found a new home, and a new soul.
