She had always been special. Where she walked, flowers grew. Where she flew birds followed. When she had hatched from her egg, the forest had rejoiced. Leaves had enveloped her, and the forest had dropped a magic flower into her lap.
She had been chosen by the forest to be it's protector. The dragon who would keep order, keep it safe, and keep the humans out. The forest was one of the last places untouched by human hands, and the forest wanted to do everything possible to keep it that way.
It is unknown whether her egg was left by a dragon to hatch on it's own, or whether the forest itself had created her. She is a long line of forest souls, dragons appointed to be the woods guardians. They are rumored to be made of flowers and leaves and dirt.
She has never doubted her purpose, for she is one with the forest. It gives her everything she needs, and gifts as well. Her special rose keeps her alive, and unhurt. The forest gave her the other half of her soul, a tiny, abandoned familiar that she raised.
The forest has been safe, with no threats of humans so far. But Orochi is always ready. She is nonviolent, peaceful, but the moment that humans attack she knows what must be done. And she has a million lifetimes to back that up.
A million lost forests, lost souls. she refused to add to that. The woods are her spirit, and she will keep them.
