Foxie Clan Hatchlingsitter | Toy-maker —–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–——–—–—–—–—–—–—–—–— Foxie's full name is actually Taluhk Rike Renard, though only Tyna knows that. And believe it or not, Foxie didn't start his existence as a dragon, but as a stuffed toy. Specifically, Foxie was Tyna's toy - a little floppy stuffed fox. She would cuddle him whenever she was sad or sleepy, and he would often host tea parties for the hatchlings. She also lent him out to hatchlings occasionally, on the condition that they would treat him very nicely and bring him back. The young dragons couldn't remember the stuffed fox's name and Tyna gave up trying, so he became known as Foxie. Tyna had lent Foxie out to Adara, the clan's newest member. Serenity had adopted him after taking a liking to his quiet calm manner, and he had quickly become friends with the clan's other new member, Juko. Serenity would occasionally send Adara out to play with Juko so that she could conduct scientific research and experiments with the clan's other scientist, Orion. The two, being both especially interested in elemental magic, made a good research team. It just so happened that on the day that Tyna lent Foxie to Adara, the two of them were conducting a very important experiment for Orion's research into elemental magic's effect on biology and genetics. Serenity had shooed the young mirror outside to play, and of course the plush toy had to remain inside to stay clean. After a few hours of intense and excited sciencing, the two dragons thought they were close to some sort of breakthrough and decided to test their elemental concoction on some organic components. Clearly, experimenting with an actual dragon or egg would be unethical, but they thought that perhaps some feather or nail clippings from their fellow clanmates would be ok. Just as they were about to attempt the final mixing of their experiment, Adara came racing into the den, Juko close on his heels. The two young ran in laughing and squeeling, and Adara, not looking where he was going and quite forgetting why he'd been kicked out of the house in the first place, ran right into the table that the two scientists had set up to work on. Juko crashed into him and the two upset the whole thing. Chemicals and components spilled everywhere, Serenity dropped the flask she'd been holding as she stumbled backwards, and the whole situation was utter chaos. As the hatchlings and disgruntled scientists began straightening up the room, they discovered that Tyna's Foxie had taken a hit during the pandemonium. He was covered in most of the contents of the flask that Serenity had been holding, as well as a mix of compounds from the table that was difficult to identify, and the whole mess began to fizz and bubble as it soaked into the toy's stuffing. Soon the toy began to twitch and smoke and even spark a bit disconcertingly, and before anyone could do anything other than stand there and stare in bewilderment, there lay a tiny wildclaw hatchling where the stuffed fox used to be. After his strange entrance into the world, Foxie grew up much as any other dragon in the clan. The only noticeable difference is that is hide is covered with extremely soft fur. He is an extremely affectionate dragon, and is always ready to comfort someone who's had a bad day, with a hug or a cup of tea. He settled in quite nicely as the clan's babysitter, seeing as how he is exceptionally good with hatchlings.
