Biography
For as long as she could remember, Echo had been on her own. She quickly grew used to the cruelty of the world, and survived hunting and stealing scraps from clans for a while. At some point down the line, however, she realized what she was really good for: taking things, putting them together and making new things.
She opened up a little shop in the marketplace where she fixed broken things taken to her. At first she honestly didn't know what she was doing, but she quickly got the hang of things. She can find out how almost any object or device works in mere minutes... provided there was no magic involved with it. This was one of her biggest struggles, and she lost many customers after they realized she had no idea of what to do with magic things.
She was considering closing up for good when a Tundra male came along. He explained he'd heard tales of someone able to fix anything, no matter how beyond repair it seemed, but was constantly stumped by magical artifacts. He introduced himself as a mage who wished to collaborate with her, offering her a business partnership. Although a bit wary of the mysterious stranger, Echo was desperate, so she accepted.
Although at first they mostly kept to themselves and shared only necessary knowledge, they slowly grew close; before they knew it, their strict and shaky partnership had been left in the dust in favor of a close friendship. The shop became property of the two overtime, the workshop shifting to make room for each other's comforting presence.
Nowadays, Echo and Bastion run the shop, now much larger and more stable, together, alongside their children and... some help. Echo finds what she considers a shameless invasion of their business unbearable, but at the end of the day she has to admit the only reason they're running so smoothly is because of them. (But that doesn't mean she has to like them!)
She's also managed to make enough spare time to work on developing her own inventions. It's all a work in progress, though, and she's keeping it under wraps from everyone (even Bastion!) until it's more presentable. Coming up with increasingly out there theories about it has quickly become a favorite pastime of the rest of the staff.
