 The fourth and final DERG refugee traveling aboard the Lapin, Ari could not quite tell you why she's still here. Her original occupation as a mercenary is still something she is very suited for, and her mantra has always been 'do what pays the best'. She doesn't lose money on the ship, but she pockets far less than she was a year ago.

If someone pushes her for a reason, she idly states that she believes the soldier-of-fortune scene has been poisoned against herself and Leucetius: morally bankrupt, they had sold themselves to an evil organization-- and then they had the audacity to let it be destroyed. In reality, this does not have as much of an influence on her employability as she claims. Dragons willing to hire mercenaries do not much care for morals, and she has enough positive feedback on her record to make it evident that she cannot be held responsible for DERG's collapse.

The reason she doesn't state is that she likes the airship. Dola treats her like family, Eran like an older sister, Leucetius like a close friend; she shares a certain kinship with Aerie; Nyx gives her alcohol; when she picked up a kitten on one stop in Fire territory, no one told her she couldn't keep it (its name is Bryson).
