Ah Piccolo, the typical antagonist turned protag. Who does not love green dad? His relationship with Gohan just warmed my heart so much and his sassy nature in both the original Funimation Dub and the Abridged series just brought so much life and humour to the series.

PERSONALITY:
Piccolo was once a cold distant fighter, having no concern for anyone but himself and typically spending his days alone in barren wastelands. Through this experience, he suffered from a lack of friends in real life and resorted to social media to compensate for it. This scarcity of companions caused him to work together with Goku to save his son Gohan, putting his life on the line all because Goku promised to become his friend on Myspace in exchange for his aid in saving his son. Benefits of his distant times in alone allowed for Piccolo to know much about deserted areas for which only someone such as himself, a person who either sought or was content with being alone, would occupy. Unfortunately for Piccolo, others have caught on to his knowledge, such as Tien. Despite his general loneliness, Piccolo has been shown to communicate well with others, particular in exchanging dialogue with Tien and communications with Nail.
Piccolo has largely deviated from his past trait in befriending Goku's son Gohan. The lengths to which he would go to ensure Gohan's safety are endless, be it taking blasts for him, dueling opponents that have attacked him or coming to save him without concern for the others. Piccolo's relationship with Gohan differs from his with the other Z-Fighters in that he genuinely likes Gohan, who he puts the safety of above the others, the Saiyan even being capable of swaying his position as it was Gohan that convinced him to assist Tenshinhan during his losing battle against Nappa. Despite their close relationship, Piccolo can often become frustrated with Gohan at times, either for what he believes is Gohan ignoring him, talking in a smart tone, or being inquisitive and asking a multiple of questions that Piccolo would rather not answer.
Piccolo has at several times shown a lack of maturity as he has resorted to name calling when negatively reacting to Gohan and Krillin, and insulting Kami's face when the latter reminded him of the Namekian fusion technique being forbidden.
Unlike the main Piccolo who has neither the time nor the understanding for romantic relationships, this Piccolo appears to be aware of such things and is at least open to the idea of romance (or at the very least a sexual relationship) as shown in the Honest Trailers - Dragonball Evolution (Feat. TeamFourStar) when he stated "Whoa, when did I get a hot Asian sidekick? Maybe this movie isn't so bad."
Piccolo is very expressive of himself vocally, shouting at high volumes when expressing distaste with a setting or person. This extends to both his anger and blurting out of a situation, such as when he approached Nail or warned of the arriving Freeza. While shouting, Piccolo is capable of being heard from distances of great length, as he was audible on Namek from where Gohan and Krillin were despite being miles and miles away from the pair.
One of his defining traits is his intelligence, which he used to his advantage in convincing the androids they had killed the population of the city of Amenbo Island, leading Cell to believe he had won their fight, making plans to combat Cell and prevent him from absorbing the androids. and mentioning the possibility of stopping Android 13 from transforming while everyone else just wanted. Piccolo also has used his intelligence to insult villains such as Raditz, Freeza, and Medamatcha. This has always resulted in some physical retaliation by the insulted, Piccolo for the most part being able to defend himself and sometimes even outclassing his opponent. In spite of his critiques, Piccolo is capable of giving credit when it is due, acknowledging Nappa as skilled after the latter was able to see through his and Krillin's attacks the Spirit Bomb as powerful enough to kill Freeza, and the Super Saiyan transformation as having been a milestone when Goku initially gained the ability.
Piccolo has an air of confidence that he brings alongside him into battle, knocking away Freeza right after entering a confrontation between him and the others and boasting that he would "bust" Android 20 after being healed. Piccolo does not allow his confidence to get the better of him, as he hushed both Nail and Kami while overhearing Cell approaching him and being unsure of who he was, admitting that he was at his limit while fighting against Android 17 and that he had been bluffing when boasting earlier.
Piccolo's mannerisms toward the mention of his father have seemingly become more matter-of-fact. While he initially sought revenge against Goku for murdering his father, he most often takes a tone of describing the circumstances surrounding the senior Piccolo with little to no emotion, as he pointedly told Future Trunks about his killing by Goku. He did however become irritated when his father's past action of releasing murderers and criminals was overlooked in comparison to Cell.
Piccolo's relationship with Goku has changed greatly since they teamed up initially and became friends on MySpace. Piccolo was bothered by Goku's stupidity and his lack of caring for his own child. Goku held a grudge against Piccolo for a time due to his discovering that Piccolo faked confidence in his skills during the fight against Raditz. Piccolo nonetheless considers Goku his friend, even saying that he would consider joining a battle in progress Goku needed help in. As highlighted in their conflict with Garlic Jr., Goku and Piccolo heavily contrast each other, Goku having a family and a home while Piccolo is a loner that roams around. Piccolo's envy of Goku's lifestyle was indicated by Piccolo admitting to having a heightened dislike of Goku upon Goku mentioning it.
Since fusing with Nail, Piccolo has had a continuous companion, which he lacked throughout his life beforehand. Despite this seeming wish come true scenario, Piccolo has mostly regulated Nail to either speaking to him from time to time, in some cases briefly or insisting that he stop trying to say anything at all, though this is usually justified by Piccolo wishing to stay focused and be with distractions. However, Piccolo has also shown that he can become annoyed by Nail even when he is not engaging in battle. Much of these behaviors are translated into his interactions with Kami after their fusion.
Piccolo's fusion with Kami also signified a growth in his remorse, as he became aware of the past actions of his father, apologizing to Tenshinhan for his father murdering Chiaotzu.

Though he acknowledged him to have become stronger after a year of training, and acknowledged his Kienzan as being a powerful attack, Piccolo has insulted Krillin's intelligence and attempted causing him harm during the Garlic Jr. debacle, actually becoming physical with him to prevent Krillin from blurting out about the Spirit Bomb. Krillin has shown a lack of ill-will toward Piccolo, intending to resurrect him both times he acquired the Dragon Balls, and in speaking about his first death, distinguished Piccolo from his father.
Piccolo has a generally low opinion of Yamcha, being unaffected by his passing, not caring what he had to contribute to dialogues on what to do with the Namekian Dragon Balls, and also commenting on his weakness when compared to the others. Yamcha showed jealousy to Piccolo not having to train with him while the two were simultaneously disciples of King Kai.
Piccolo's views of Vegeta have progressively worsened. He was largely indifferent to Vegeta's death, the latter of whom showing no particular affinity to him either. Piccolo considers Vegeta a bad person and hates him, being unimpressed by his considerable strength. In contrast, Vegeta has shown frustration with Piccolo's power exceeding his own, but he still believes he would defeat him in combat.
His relationship with Vegeta's son from an alternate timeline, Future Trunks, is entirely different. Piccolo has no particular disliking of him in the slightest, even being bothered by Vegeta's tone toward him. The two are similar in their awkwardness at making small-talk.
Piccolo developed something of a rivalry with Android 17 in the time that he and the other androids were searching for Goku, brought upon by Android 17 defeating Piccolo with relative ease during their initial fight. By the time the pair met again, Piccolo was stronger as a result of his fusion with Kami and more confident of his skills, displayed by his ordering of 17 to bow during their second fight. Although the two were similar in both wanting to kill Goku at some point, Piccolo stressed their differences by mentioning that his motive was revenge while 17 only wanted to out of boredom.
Piccolo has continuously showed an inability to come up with good attack names. The Special Beam Cannon, named because Piccolo couldn't pronounce "Makankosappo," has been mocked by Nail, who also judged the name "Hellzone Grenade" to be "ehhhh" (which caused Piccolo to angrily decide he'd be keeping it). Conversely, Piccolo was forced to admit that the name "Nail Gun" was actually good.

Piccolo Jr. (ピッコロ・ジュニア, Pikkoro Junia), usually just called Piccolo also known as Ma Junior, is a Namekian and also the final child and reincarnation of the Demon King Piccolo, later becoming the reunification of the Nameless Namekian after fusing with Kami. According to Grand Elder Guru, Piccolo, along with Kami and King Piccolo, are part of the Dragon Clan, who were the original creators of the Dragon Balls. A wise and cunning warrior who was originally a ruthless enemy of Goku, Piccolo later becomes a permanent member of the Dragon Team, largely due to forming a mutual respect to Goku and even more from forming a close bond with Goku's first-born son Gohan. Gohan (孫悟飯, Son Gohan) is the elder son of the series' primary protagonist Goku and his wife Chi-Chi, the older brother of Goten, the husband of Videl and father to Pan. Gohan is the first hybrid (half-Earthling, half-Saiyan) to appear in the series. He is named after Goku's adoptive grandfather, Gohan. Unlike his father, Gohan lacks a passion for fighting and prefers to do so only when the need to defend his loved ones arises.
