The first voice Sushila ever heard was her mother's.
The second voice was a dark whisper from the beyond, a ghost. Her grandmother. Since the day Sushila opened her little hatchling eyes, she's been able to see the spirits that tread along beside the living. When she could speak, she learned she could talk to them, too.

Unfortunately talking to thin air all of the time makes you a rather unpopular girl, thus Sushila's friends are what normal dragons call 'invisible'. Most avoided her. Those who tried to bully her instead were met with otherwordly retaliation and called her 'possessed'. It didn't bother Sushila, but she saw that it bothered everyone else. And so as soon as she could, Sushila took off from her birth clan to find a new home where no one was aware of her quirks.

She resolved to be more secretive about her conversations with the spirits, and she really did try...It lasted just long enough for Sushila to run into a witch named Rokshata, who could see the small army of ghosts that walked along behind Sushila as she traveled the Lightning sands. Caught by surprise, and not one to lie regardless, Sushila frankly explained her situation. And instead of being ushered on to different lands of the next clan, she instead found herself being invited to join Rokshata's. A witch who assured her that not only would no one bother her or her ghostly companions, but that she'd even be welcomed to the House of Witches.

While she visits them often, Sushila never found her calling as a witch. But she did find a comfortable place within the clan to stay. Currently, Sushila works as a waitress at Aruna's Trick-of-the-Light Cafe, mostly because she gets free tea. She's made it clear that she has no interest in clan politics, and has actually become quite popular because of it. Everyone tells her their thoughts and problems, knowing that while Sushila might tell her ghost friends, none of the living will ever hear of it.

A Soul Whisperer has the ability to actually communicate with a soul. They can see and hear them, but also talk to them. Whisperers often guide souls to the Gate after Hunters and Collectors finished their jobs. They can also enchant a Hunter's weapon to be able to interact with a soul.

Aruna's travels have brought some interesting news. From the far lands of the Windswept Plateau, the nocturne merchant came across a curious group who call themselves the Soul Hunters Initiative. A collective of spirit-dealing dragons much like Sushila. With a fondness for her waitress back in Shadow lands, Aruna dug around and found out what she could about the group, then brought the news back home.

Sushila has a habit of attracting benevolent souls. Since learning of the S.H.I., Sushila has realized that the spirits she considers her closest friends are kind souls trapped in this realm- and that sometimes her friendships with them actually keep them around even longer. She's now taken it upon herself to mercifully help them move on. That's what friends are for, right?

She might have to make a trip to the Windswept Plateau to learn just how to help her ghostly companions...or maybe the witch Rokshata knows something?
