Paranoia hears voices. He has since he was very little, but hasn't talked about it since the day, at age four, that Cry told him that 'game' wasn't funny anymore, and he needed to not play it because she was scared it would get him in trouble. But, it wasn't until recently that he noticed the voices in his head almost sound like other people's thoughts.

But, seeing as being an Arcanist is a societally bad thing, Paranoia hasn't explored that idea, and instead has been questioning whether or not a mental illness is to blame. And, as the voices of the people who live in his home have started to invade his mind even when he's sleeping, Paranoia has become a bit of an insomniac. He does his best to block out the voices in whatever ways possible- music, partying, leaving the house at night- and it was on one of the nights he'd left that he discovered something truly terrifying.

At the edge of the city, where 'The Deep' is blocked off by electric fences, is usually where the voices are quiet. Even the gentle murmur he hears when outside of buildings fades and he is in complete silence. But, every so often, that silence is cut by a voice- a different one each time- letting out an agonized wail. Then, it returns as if nothing happened.

He's pretty sure there are thinking beings in The Deep that are dying.
