| Telemancer | The Mentalist | Chaotic Neutral | ENTJ |
A bead of sweat dripped down his forehead as he stared into liquid green eyes. Memories flashed past his mind's eye, flickering faster and faster, until he reached a final blank one, the black of the emptiness of the memory threatening to swallow him, closer and closer, and…. “Ugh!” The man spat, just pulling himself out of his mind in time as the previously bright eyes turned glassy, and the other man’s knees buckled, before he slammed into the hard tiles, face-first. Disinterested black eyes flicked from side to side, before the man disappeared, moving into the shadows. He scowled. The deities clearly refused to spill their secrets; that man was one of the last known telepaths that had successfully made the connection and now he was dead. His last lead gone. All that hard work and months of research for nothing. “I wouldn't say nothing.” The man gave a start, his black eyes glowing luminescent green as he activated his powers, stepping out into the daylight as he scanned his surroundings. “Who's there?” At that, one of the shadows peeled off from the wall, reforming itself into some form which flaunted giant antlers, where souls seemed to rest? The man blinked again, and the illusion was broken. He settled into a sort of battle stance -- he was ready to try and pierce its mind open, or run with his life. The being shook - with laughter? - as he gazed at it. “My dear Telemancer, I am of no threat to you.” “And why would that be?” He challenged, ignoring the fact that this thing knew his title. He could hear the smirk in its voice. “My dear Telemancer, always desiring to peer into the minds of deities. You want more than what you have been given, and for you I will grant this boon.” His eyes narrowed, his stance shifting to a normal battle stance, his left fist cloaked with the disorienting magic he possessed. “What's the catch?” “Smart one, aren't you? Well, I never liked that dratted Anti-Mage and his precious Council. Or those dramatic Syndicate mages.” “You're not working with him? But the public eye -- it's all a facade, isn't it?” The being clasped two shadowy hands together. “I knew you were smart! Precisely. I will make you a bet, dear Telemancer. Kill all those in the Council and Syndicate -- besides those select few of my Agents -- and I will grant you the power to seek the knowledge hidden within those powerful minds.” “And what if I lose?” The tone changed, looming and foreboding. “You wouldn't want to find out, darling.” He stared at its antlers. “I will not lose to the likes of you. I will get what I seek.” “Then the bet is on.” Bio written by SilverNight104 #220910, my dear syndicate frond |
