The third brother, Euphranor, is most at ease in the twilight hours, when the sun has set and the boundaries between light and darkness are blurry. Euphranor's world is made up of shades of gray, and the bone magic he specializes in also has its darker aspects. For that reason, Euphranor imposes order on his life and his magic by adhering to a strict moral code that stresses both compassion and non-interference.

While he has the power to impose his will on other living creatures through his magic, part of being a practitioner involves knowing when to act and when to wait. Patient and unmoving, Euphranor prefers to observe every detail of a situation before acting, and has been known to gather intelligence for days and even weeks. Once he has all the necessary puzzle pieces, though, Euphranor is capable of acting with decisive swiftness, rendering judgment and enforcing his will through force if need be. It is extremely difficult to change his mind once Euphranor is set on a course, and while he can be overzealous on occasion, he is generally respected as a fair and honest arbiter in times of dispute.
