Born in the Fishspine Reef, Xuebek is an inquisitive dragon. His Skydancer genes and Water flight alignment make him calm, curious, and full of visions. Visions of dragons afflicted with magical ailments and deformities. Xuebek felt like it was his mission to find out more, which caused him to travel and eventually find his way to Clan Isidoro. With tools from many clans he came across he has decided, with Devishtari's permission, to chronicle the ailments of her people--er, dragons. Along with Orel, Xuebek writes about all of the Clan's members, though his most detailed entries are about the more unstable members of the clan. Highlighter, Arben... Dragons with wings made of ice-- All these anomalies call out to his seer powers, and he can't put a claw on it, but something seems...wrong. Perhaps it's the land, or the magic, or the dragons themselves? He has a few guesses as to who might be causing problems, and it makes his relationships with them difficult:Corlyra claims he kept his head underwater too long and it's made his brain soggy. Lorelai says she would gain nothing from warping others. Nadia claims her magic is like his, visions only. Of course he knows Dusk is behind Highlighter, but what if he's behind the others?

Xuebek is out of his den right now, and any Dragons that would give you away are out of sight. You sneak into the dragon's abode, wondering what the mildly secretive dragon has up his sleeves. In the darkness of a cave, you squint your eyes. There is smoke drifting off of freshly extinguished candles, a sign that he'd only left recently. On a rickety table toward the back, there are books surrounded by inkwells and glowing crystals. The crystals give you enough light to lean in and peer at the titles of these books.You can tell the candles are just for supplementary light. The books have names of other Clan Dragons on them...And not everyone either. You glance down, fingers brushing over each of them.

The Tundra is surprisingly chipper considering her slow loss of her flight ability. Her wings and fur are covered in ice. Perhaps it is from her natural alignment?? She does have Ice magic, so it wouldn't be a leap to assume that his is her natural state.

I asked Isolde if she had cast these spells on herself on purpose, but she said she had no clue. She allowed me to observe her wings, and instead of leather it was thick chunks of ice akin to a glacier. It was fascinating. She can glide, but no longer flies because of its weight.

I've heard things. Apparently he had been on the brink of death and taken in. He seems very close to Lorelai, and I see magic swirling around them both. It's strong, and I can't put my claws on it. He's too quiet.

Impossible to get Lorelai alone to ask her about it; he is always there in the shadows, and it is either for his sake or she doesn't trust me yet. I've heard things from Nadia at least, and she hinted perhaps I should speak to Maleficent as well...

All I know is, there's some dark magic there.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. He is unstable and deranged. Experiments on others and his magic has clearly scrambled his brain. I see it in his stomach, churning and sparking with magic.

I have been warned to not touch any food or drink he offers me. I can see why when I glance to Highlighter, or see glimpses of him in the shadows.

Claims that she has a piece of the Shade in that little bottle she clings to. Not sure if she's legitimate or not. If she is, that's concerning news. If it's not well... Whatever keeps her happy? I suppose. She seems okay enough, even with the strange....growths.

She does not allow me to take samples to examine, and in fact, I saw her calm demeanor shatter when I suggested so, and she fanned out her crest and bared her teeth at me. It was quite startling.

I think I saw smoke come out from under her blindfold. I vowed not to push her limits too hard, lest she attract more Shade with her anger.

Hard to get a good look at him. I see bright colours, and all sorts of goreish things. He often is at the edge of the territory, and I don't like to confront him, seeing as he might lash out at any time.

I have been told he is a gentle sort, just shy and withdrawn given that Dusk's potion kickstarted his mutations. I have seen horns and vines and mushrooms, and I find myself wondering just what kind of potion he ingested to cause all this. His colouration is vivid, and seems to ebb and almost glow...

I feel pity for him.

He's...unnerving. He smells wrong, and he doesn't move like a dragon should--Nocturne or not.

No one will tell me anything about him. I am suspicious things are especially not what they seem with him.

How has he started to grow crystals on him and not be alarmed?! I am alarmed by how calm he is. It seems worse than Isolde's situation, seeing as it's....magical crystal...

I spoke to him about this, and he stated that it was likely he'd be taken over by it in the future, as his arcane magic bubbles inside him. I told him I would document the magical changes, and unlike Isolde, Edizuh appears to have the ability to fly still. He doesn't seem as hampered by these changes.
