General Nythra is a strange dragon, born to strange parents under strange circumstance. It shows immediately to anyone with a set of working eyes. Her mannerisms are standoffish at best, downright feral at worst, and she moves among other dragons like a shark among minnows - predatorial, attentive, unsettlingly intelligent, and with a certain swagger that comes only with the belief that she is the most dangerous creature for miles. She speaks the language of glinting teeth and flashed claws more fluently and more frequently than she speaks the language of drakes. All this considered, one would expect a dragon like her to fit poorly with others of her kind, even pose a threat to them more often than not. Nythra does not particularly care what would be assumed of her, and carries on well enough with other dragons anyways. It's clear that whatever clan structure she came from is far different from the bubble's, so she tends to behave stiffly around its dragons, making faux pas in situations that would flow to others like second nature, and perpetually dealing with fresh bouts of culture shock as each new and unusual aspect of their life is introduced to her. Her efforts to integrate into the 'clan' and decipher the maze of their niceties is met with enough irritating roadblocks to make any sane dragon want to scream. She's learning, though. With every slip-up and dead end, she's learning, and the day she figures it all out is closer than it might appear. Arrival While undeniably as proud and pure a Plague dragon as her father could have hoped for, Nythra never took to his lessons or his craft, and she certainly didn't take to his experimentations. She loved him in the bittersweet way young children love their parents, but resented him all the same, hanging close to her mother as a living defense from her father's toying until she was old enough to strike out on her own...just barely old enough. The strength and skill learned from her mother managed to keep her safe traveling through the Abiding Boneyard for a time, and the size of her breed helped make up for the residual clumsiness of her youth. Unfortunately, the boneyard had claimed dragons tougher than her thousands of times before. All it took was one bad encounter, just an enemy or two more than she could fend off alone, to put an end to her bold little venture. And by all accounts, that should have been where Nythra's story came to a close. When she somehow woke again, accompanied by an unfamiliar coatl, her wounds mysteriously treated and wrapped, it wasn't difficult to put two and two together. A tense alliance was struck up, and together they made their way through the remainder of the boneyard. When the barrens of Plague territory transitioned to the wastelands of Arcane, they kept right on their way until they eventually arrived among the dragons of the bubble. History Nythra - The thirdborn. It started out with five children. This is the beginning of this macabre lineage. Birthed from a doctor whose obsession is to find the perfect Plague specimen and his subject, these are children who have fallen into the claws of their father. They have been administered a variety of concoctions and fluids while their mother had been looking away. Their father believes there are some sort of intelligence much like his own instilled into these hatchlings. So, he teaches them the ways of his craft, how Plague elemental magic is manifested within a dragon, and much more. Their mother, however, is more feral than she is presentable. While she speaks much like an animal, she shows a strong attachment towards these children. She teaches them to hunt, to attack, to be cautious. She made sure they stayed by her side, even snapping at their father if he had got too close to them. But, like every adult when they are grown, she pushed them forward to start a new life. Now, these children are seeking a different life than they do within their birth clan. Some have turned feral, while others have common intelligence. Perhaps they will pursue the life their parents had, or the Plaguebringer may bestow a different task within their minds. But, who knows? Once they take the step forward, they will find out...
