Once the beautiful dark wildclaw who courted and cared for the Queen's favored Seer, Aedon, Daemon was corrupted and transfigured following an encounter with the Unknown Haunt. After several months of intermittent delirium and illness, the wildclaw opened his jaws and expelled his own essence in the form of a mad specter, spun by unknown forces into the general shape of a spiral dragon, though a spiral wrought primarily by insanity than by the holy work of the Windsinger. The wildclaw then collapsed, the vibrancy drained from his body and wings. A foolish healer might have suggested coma. But it was Aedon's reaction that revealed the body to be instead in some state of death, or emptiness.

She turned to the unholy thing as if it were her lover, and ignored the husk left behind, though the sight of what he became caused her to scream and mourn, and all their remaining children were stricken by it. Since that day, her Sight has grown dim to all but the strongest of prophecy, and even those she is unable to communicate.

The thing now occupies a secure, deep chamber, where it is seldom visited by any, save for Aedon.
