Biography

Nerites
In-Clan Courier
The Flower Child
2990.png

1088.png

Eyeballs and Macaw are his best friends and work buddies. The Fae ferry things around the clan while Macaw directs them. Though calmer than Eyeballs, and often viewed as 'useless', Nerites can be counted on in a fight. He just doesn't see the point in "getting in on the action" and will avoid getting his claws dirty if he can help it.

Most of the time Nerites spends his time watching other dragons, conversing with Eyeballs, or collecting flowers. He especially loves flowers. They make wonderful crowns. As most of the clan follows Aine's lead and gets swept up in what he calls "delusions of grandeur" (privately, of course), Nerites is seen as a bit of a joke: he's got the ability to join them under Aine's lead but does what's necessary to survive rather than conquer.

Nerites spends a lot of time away from Macrophyte, his mate, with her leaving on hunting expeditions and him staying home as a courier. They essentially only have time to themselves when the day's over and they're getting ready to sleep. But they don't actually spend that time alone. Instead, they tend to flop together with their teams in a gigantic multicoloured cuddlepile.
''Neritidae, common name the nerites, is a taxonomic family of small to medium-sized saltwater and freshwater snails which have a gill and a distinctive operculum, marine, brackish water and freshwater gastropod mollusks in the order Neritoida.''
