Lua, espada nua, boia no céu imensa e amarela. Tão redonda, Lua, como flutua. Vem requebrando o azul do firmamento e num silêncio lento: Um trovador, cheio de estrelas. |
Notable Mentions Most evil looking, by PouchiPouchi
I also thought Luar is a little bit evil looking... or maybe kinda unapproachable? A mysterious lady, seems like she has many deep secrets.
Most intimidating derg, by Alixe
I’d also like to throw some honorable mentions towards Luar who kind of gives me evil sea witch vibes and I love her for it.

THE MARIANA The Cinderchasm Riders were a medium sized clan from the Ashfall Wastes, specialised in gem harvesting and enchanting armoury. They were rich and well off and decided to make a move to Dragonhome to further their gem harvesting abilities. As the clan was mostly comprised of snappers, they had no other means of arriving at Dragonhome but to either walk all the way there or try their chance crossing the Sea of a Thousand Currents. They made a beautiful ship of redwood and beautiful sandy sails with their emblem embroidered to their hems. Their pride and joy, the promise of better days: the bold, cunning and Treacherous Mariana. Luar was young by then, her powers not as honed as they are now, and she could not see the misery that would befall her former clan and their beloved ship. It was sunk by a monster, a Krakenguard, a creature of tale from Water Flight only some dragons knew of. She spent weeks trying to keep them alive underwater, but as her powers started failing, they had to make the decisions of who died and who survived. In a desperate attempt, she tried to divert the monster guarding their sunken ship to let them escape, but was defeated, and while fainted, her clanmates had no means of surviving without her water powers, and finally drowned. As she woke up, she was finally alone. Luar would have given up entirely, if her mate's words weren't always echoing inside her head. "If we die, live your life for us as well." After so many weeks using every bit of her powers to sustain so many dragons, her powers grew, the Sea answered. Without the need to keep anybody else alive, she found herself powerful enough to use the last of her strengths to send a cry of despair to the surface. If only she had been powerful like that before. If only she was stronger. If. If. If. |
ARRIVAL AT PORTO Secretive and discreet, she avoids having to meet other dragons unless necessary. If starved, she has mind-projection powers, being capable of making her voice heard in the head of dragons, as well as very strong divination powers. As her powers come with the price of her physical well-being, Luar will gladly offer her skills to prevent the tragedy that fell upon the Mariana to fall on other vessels, but she has to charge a high fee to do it, as it takes a huge toll on her health. The clan had no dragon with typical divination powers when Luar was taken in and she immediately filled that role. Because of her past traumas, Luar hates being the centre of attention, which happens quite often due the nature of her powers. She avoids the sea and has a bit of Thalassophobia. Her powers let her see wether a vessel might sink during a voyage and so most of the dragons in Porto go out of their way to pay for her divination skills, expensive as they may be. Despite being very lonely, she gets along just fine with the younger dragons on the clan and has three apprentices in Zara, Accalia and Maeve as well as a foster daughter in Eudora. Lives with the four of them in a two stories kind-of abandoned building in the Navigator Harbor and will only occasionally accept Elena and Maria's invites to dinner or a round of games at the local Casino. Still, Luar thinks she doesn't deserve to have much fun when such tragedy befell her original clan and mostly keeps to herself. |
