After Scarbra's birth, one of the measures Huntress demanded of Rusty to let him keep the bastardis child was to conceive another with her; one of her blood. Especially before they moved from their birthplace within The Windswept Plateaus and their children bore the violet eyes of their new homeland. Rusty, never wavering in his love of his Charge, of course obeyed, and thus Divitiae came to be. Huntress had hoped for a warrior like her husband, and from the weight of his egg, she had expected to get her wish. When he hatched with the ability to control magic, her excitement only grew. Neither her nor Rusty had ever really tapped into any magical potentials, so Divitiae's inclination to the craft took them both by surprise. However, when it became clear to her, after trails and tests, that Divitiae was very much a pacifist, and she learned of his unwillingness to fight, Huntress half-abandoned Divitiae as she had Scabra, dumping the guardian on Sweets and forcing her to raise her young. Rusty tried to be a more hands-on father for Divitiae, considering that he had been banished from seeing Scabra, but quickly learned to keep his distance. Divitiae showed great fear of his father, knowing him only as the tyrant barbarian his mother kept on short leash and never as a parental figure. He watched Divitiae's growth from afar, bitter and disappointed by the kind of dragon he became. He avoids Divitiae, though secretly wishes he could have been a good father to him. Working with Propheta, Divitiae learnt of his strong connection with The Windsinger. He is unable to openly communicate with his god, but can hear whispers; poems, stories, and wordless calls. He writes all that he hears down, and has taken up poetry and missionary work as his career. No one is quite sure of his Charge; he seems to have yet figured it out himself. No one has ever seen him have any urge to go on The Search or have a particularly strong connection to anything, so it remains a mystery. N/A N/A |
