Biography

Daniel’s life had an interesting start. Having hatched from an egg that was stolen by a school of maren, he was given to a young member of the school, as a ‘pet’ or a training dummy. The older maren didn't see the small fae as a threat, so he'd be perfect to teach someone the dangers of a dragon without putting them in ACTUAL danger. The fae had no idea he was supposed to be a pet or a training dummy though, since he became neither of those.

The maren he was given to began to treat Daniel like a little brother: playing with him, teaching the fae the languages in which the beastclans spoke and much more. It came as no surprise that Daniel saw himself as a maren. However, other maren of the school were wary of this creature, and Daniel’s ‘older brother’ was often warned not to grow attached, for this monster could snap and kill him, despite being smaller than most dragons. The maren often times told his elders he knew, and he’d be careful, only to throw that promise into the wind whenever he and Daniel decided to start a small wrestling match.

However, one day Daniel got separated from the school after a storm, and ended up on land. Confused and slightly curious, the fae began to explore this new world, never having been on land before. He came across multiple dragons, hiding himself each and every time he caught a glimpse of one. The area he was in was dark, almost pitch black, like eternal night. The fae got lost, and didn’t know how to return to the water. It took hours (and a few close encounters with dragons), but Daniel managed to find the way back to the large body of water he had occupied for most of his life. Quickly diving in, the fae began to search for his school. It took hours, but by the end of the day Daniel was reunited with his older brother and the rest of his family, who had only gotten more wary, as rumor had spread he had gone on land. Daniel was quick to realize this, and ended up asking his older brother for an explanation. Having successfully become a powerful mage, his brother decided to tell the fae the truth.

As shocking as the truth was, Daniel at first only saw himself being able to deceive and betray dragons, able to lure them to the water into a trap, but his brother was quick to defuse this idea. He stated that the school had been able to live in peace for ages now, with no dragon there to harm them, attacking would only have a negative effect. Daniel snapped that those ‘vile’ dragons could turn and kill the school at any moment, desperate to prove a point. However, with a single sentence the fae’s older brother forced Daniel to rethink what he just said.

‘But you are a dragon as well, and you haven’t snapped yet.’

After months of awkward interactions with the other maren and his brother, Daniel was starting to get… curious to what dragons were like, and opted to try and stay on land a bit more often. Whereas most were distrusting, Daniel’s older brother told him it’d be fine as long as the secret of the maren school would remain secret.

A long time passed, and Daniel found a new home within the The Hidden Haven. He speaks with a heavy accent, and doesn’t really socialize often, but he’s a part of the clan nonetheless. The fae frequently travels back to the large body of water in which his borhter and his family live, and still speaks with his brother. Despite this, their conversations are no longer carefree and relaxed, both sides walking on eggshells. Topics like how the clan or school is doing aren’t being discussed, and the meetings –which can last for hours- are often filled with long, awkward silences. Daniel isn’t sure if the school should be exposed to the haven, and his brother feels as if there’d be a lot of issues involving both sides accepting each other.

Still, despite this the brotherhood between the two remains, and both sides feel as if it’ll only be a matter of time before The hidden Haven and the school meet.

Whether it’ll end in bloodshed or an alliance is beyond the both of them.
